    Sewing a puppet mouth

Yay, Buck-o! Well, I didn't even know I was gone -- I don't have much time cause I'm going to college in Seattle (hoping to major in visual communication/minor in theatre). I have, however, been meaning to tell you how fun the old Buck clips you posted on Bear Town were. So I'll tell you...

    Sewing a puppet mouth

I noticed that you may also be having trouble, as you say, "upping" the quality of the "lips", so I drew up a diagram. It explains how to sew the lip to the mouthplate so as to hide the rough edges of the fabric, and it also reinstates the idea stated in my other post. The first mouth picture...

    Sewing a puppet mouth

I'm assuming your main problem is forcing a needle through the foam core mouthplate. What you need to do is pre-punch holes in the foam core for the needle to go through, much like sewing together a leather pouch (if you ever did a craft like that when you were younger). So find a paper punch...

You know what would be cool, Muppet Shorts

I seem to remember a Sesame Character short before some kiddie movie I went to see a couple years ago. I'm not sure what it was about -- I remember Cookie Monster coming on the screen as a big swirling mass of fur... Did anyone else see it? --"Scary" Larry Wolf

    Bill Murray voicing Garfield

Jim Davis: "The goal there is to make you believe that we found a cat that did all those things, even though it was all created in a computer. A tremendous amount of research and development has gone into making that cat look absolutely real." This is what I think will screw up a lot of the...

Rumor: The Muppet Wizard of Oz

While I would personally rather see a new and original Muppet movie plot, I can envision the Muppets adding and enriching the WOZ plot quite smoothly. I was honestly wondering when someone was going to remake WOZ -- I knew it would be coming someday, but I never dreamt it would be Muppets! :)...

Anyone ever buy a Terry Angus puppet on eBay?

I know that Ryan (aka: Scooter) has bought one or two. Check with him. --"Scary" LArry Wolf

    Weird Carol Spinney Dream

Whoa! this is going to sound cliche, but last night I had another dream about Frank Oz. I was in a library with a very high ceiling, and while perusing the bookshelves I noticed a little ways away there was a man reading and making notes on a script, sitting in a big leather chair on top of...

    Weird Carol Spinney Dream

Yeah, I had one a while ago about Frank Oz dying. I think I woke up in a cold sweat and just lay in bed making sure it was just a dream. It would be pretty hard to have gotten up and faced a world without Frank in it! :) --"Scary" Larry Wolf

    Fozzie's Phrenology Act

Hey, I'm a freshman in college this year and I've got a general psychology class. The professor brought up the subject of phrenology, and I want to bring Fozzie's skit in to show him. Does anyone who's better at remembering complete episodes of TMS than I am know who was the guest star on that...

    Anyone have Sam and Friends?

Heya! Does anyone have any info on how to get a copy of some "Sam and Friends" episodes? I've seen clips in various Henson biography films, but never an entire episode. --"Scary" Larry Wolf

    Sculpting Foam

It really depends on what you do with the foam. If you're using it on the interior to give the puppet form and body, the generic foam from Jo-Ann fabrics works like a charm. I used it for the puppet in my avitar, whose body I reconstructed a year ago, and it's held up fine. If you're...

    Sculpting Foam

I believe this is true. On page 116 of "The Works" is a picture of Ed Christie in the workshop with a ball of foam and some scissors -- and I don't know what else he'd be doing with those two things. It is very time consuming, which is why nowadays they usually use a mold to form the heads...

"How I miss my 'ex'" lyrics?

Heya. Do any of you remember this song? It's a clip that's on the SS homevideo "Put Down the Duckie"? A lady is in a nightclub setting singing this song and at the end she finds her "X" (the letter) in the audience. I just don't know all the lyrics. Was this written especially for SS, or...

VeggieTales creators bankrupt, sell to Classic Media

Poor little veggies. Now they'll have to go out into the world to start a new life on their own. I hear Marvin Suggs is looking to hire some more singing vegitables... ;) Sorry, just had to throw in a jovial note. --"Scary" Larry Wolf

    "Yeah, verily"

My advice is to get a copy of the King James translation of the Bible and read through the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It was translated in the 1600s by William Tyndale, so the language is from Shakespeare's time. A lot of Jesus Christ's sentences begin with the phrase. "Yea...

    Puppet Troupes at College

Hellooooo everybody! I'm headed off to college as a freshman toward the end of the month and once I get a little settled in, I'm highly considering forming a puppet troupe there. It's going to be difficult to find people as interested in it as I am, but it is in Seattle, so there's bound to be...
