Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

Personally, I love Langridge's style and the way he draws the Muppets. And truthfully, I would far rather read his comics than read a strictly on-model comic. I say that there is too much focus and pressure in both the comics and animation fields today to draw on-model and it often takes away...

Just wondering if anyone else here enjoys Pokemon?

Really? I could have sworn that was released to get with Wii points several months ago

Why is Gonzo infatuated with chickens?

Chickens have seemingly always been a pretty big part in the background of the Muppets, even before Gonzo's infatuation began. Plus, as already stated, Jim Henson thought chickens were hilarious, so it doesn't come as a big surprise that one of the major characters loved them as well.

Just wondering if anyone else here enjoys Pokemon?

    1. Meowth - I actually have a level 87 Meowth on my Diamond game. It is fantastic for its pickup ability! 2. No. I've never caught any shiny Pokemon I've been into Pokemon since 1998.

    Woman Killed By Husband's Coffin

Woah. That's really sad and extremely scary. My heart goes out to the family.

Your Thoughts: Muppet Whatnot Workshop on The Today Show

I'm watching it now, and its so cute and so much fun! I don't think I've giggled so much at a news program in... well, ever.

Seriously! How Many Worlds Are In Fraggle Rock?

Personally, I think that to break these places into "worlds" defeats the purpose/message of the show. When you get down to it, all of these things are connected and to say otherwise taints the message of unity that Fraggle Rock is all about.

Muppets on The Today Show (11/13/08)

I really want to watch this! I hope I'll be able to watch it.

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

That was Boober Fraggle that she was trapped with. And I agree, that was a very powerful episode. Great list, by the way.

    6.5 % unemployed

I graduate from college a in a few weeks and it's stressful to know I'll have to face one of the bleakest economic situations and job opportunities in my lifetime. Plus, I want to be a professional cartoonist. It will be tough, but if I put my heart and mind to it, I think I'll persevere.

    Sweetums...

Sweetums is a character of few words, but he's not (for lack of better word) stupid. I think there should be a mixture of the fractured sentences and the full sentences.

    Who's your favorite Muppet?

I suppose it's safe to say Gonzo has always been my favorite, but it's so hard to choose just one. Sort of like potato chips. I like different Muppets for different reasons, really. When it comes down to it, I'm just as likely to geek out about one as I am another if I were to see them on TV or...

    Comics?

I love sequential art and I try not to limit myself to just one genre. Indeed, I suppose my tastes are a mixing pot. As far as comic strips, I adore Calvin and Hobbes. It really was a beautiful strip that took advantage of environments and nature. Peanuts, of course is a favorite. Looking at it...

The only downside to watching the last episodes of FR...

I agree. The word masterpiece is often overused, but I feel as though the entire series, but those final episodes in particular are an an underrated masterpiece in family friendly entertainment. It's a sort of universal philosophy that I can only wish I can live up to and support in my own...

    Who likes Wayne and Wanda?

I'm glad that Wayne came back with some solo songs in Season 3. I thought that the "Dog Walk" number from the Spike Milligan episode was really cute.

    Comics?

Since it doesn't seem like we've had a comics thread in recent history, I figured I would start one. I assume there are at least some sequential art enthusiasts here. What kind of comics do you like? Newspaper strips? Superhero comics? Manga? Web-comics? The infinite canvas? I'm a bit...

    Gobo's singing voice :)

I've always liked Gobo's singing voice. For that matter, I liked his speaking voice. It's very distinct in a way that even if I hadn't seen the show in ten years, I would recognize that voice. I think that's a a testament to the talent of Jerry Nelson.

    Who likes Wayne and Wanda?

At first, I wasn't so crazy about them, but they grew on me. And Wayne had some fun appearances in the third season.

Is Rowlf the only Muppet Sam the Eagle respected?

What about Wayne and Wanda? He seemed to adore them... At least early in season 1... Then I suppose it went downhill from there.

Does Floyd Pepper have eyes or sunglasses?

It's abstract, but I think of his eyes as sunglasses. In the same way sometimes artists warp glasses to fit the expression of the character, I think that may have been the idea behind Floyd's eyes. I think the collapsible eyes/glasses give him a wider variety of expressions. Though it worked...
