How so? Just curious.
Hmm, fair enough, I can where it could go both ways.
Well traditionally the contentious thing stemmed from the "Will they/Won't they?" dynamic they had. The more they fought, the more you knew they were meant for each other, lol.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say your wording was bad. I'm the one who always struggles to explain myself, believe me, lol. I've just been frustrated. Not every board is as civil toward disagreement as this one. A lot of boards, it's like you're constantly trying to avoid encountering little mind...
See, I wouldn't call what Jerry Juhl and Jim Henson did in the past "afraid to explore." They simply knew what these characters were and weren't. That takes a writer's discipline and insight.
Nothing this show is doing is fixing or improving on anything. Just because they made a choice doesn't...

This is really all anyone needs to say.
Very, very true. I imagine it must be hard to sit back and watch that happen.
There are times when mainstream fans can be amusing that way, lol. But on the other hand, they do have a way of keeping the most iconic images alive (two guys in the balcony being a good example). And the Muppets were mainstream in the 70s and 80s, they weren't just some small niche genre thing...
Mind you, I'm not yelling at you or anything. Just venting about the show. ;)
It's not that they're mad at Janice for having a life. I think that's the concern I'm sensing from you (correct me if I'm wrong). It would be more accurate to say people are getting up in arms because Janice and...
To be fair, when fans here wanted to jump ship on this show and the changes it made to the characters, they were continually begged to give it another chance. Now with this next reboot, you don't want to do the same?
Since when was it ever implied that Janice thought being with Floyd was being tied down? Since this show? The vibe I keep getting from this show is contempt for anyone who wants to see the Muppets. They're taking anything that ever meant anything, and saying it now means nothing. And I'm not...
Kermit's mere presence had a way of inspiring the other characters, lol. :)
Plus, Kermit proved he was cool, with the way he stood up to Doc Hopper's greed.
Actually, what the band tended to talk about was 1. Their hip image. 2. Their music. They were serious about getting ahead in their career (as serious as Muppets can ever be anyway!). I remember another fan mentioning recently that the idea that rockers spend all their time doing/talking about...
