Not really. I grew up watching Hey Cinderella with King Goshposh and his noticeably human son Arthur. You can gather the rest, lol. (And that's what we mean by implied humor ;)).
Not to mention Raquel Welch declaring the bear is sexational. :flirt:
Oh yeah I mean will never watch VMX again, it literally gave me nightmares, but I still liking hearing that song on MC Radio every year. :)
Well, I don't know how much of this new show has already been filmed but they may have to make some changes...
You shouldn't even have to clarify this. ;)
On Muppet Show, they were adults struggling in showbiz. On this show, they're your High School drama club that thinks cursing on stage to shock their parents would be awesome! (Or was that just my High School drama club? Lol)
I wanted to quote this specifically. You're absolutely right. The vibe of The Muppet Movie is the gang uncompromising their way to success. This new show's vibe feels like, "Hey, we all think this is stupid, cause we're hip and edgy and sentimentality is lame!" Remember that alternate universe...
Certainly with the band it's like the writers watched an episode of Robot Chicken and thought "OK that works, Page 1 is done!"
Indeed and that's oddly been the vibe of a lot of more recent Muppet projects. Like suddenly sentimentality isn't cool. And then other times they go too far in the...
That doesn't entirely bother me, but for a weird reason. One time I had a dream that my Dad was upset about arthritis in the hand and Dr. Teeth (stay with me here) encouraged him that there was still hope, lol.
It's really a question of execution. Raquel Welch telling Fozzie the bear is sexy is a charming moment because it gave him confidence. That is very adult, in a good way. Fozzie being the clueless sap with a future father in law is bad sitcom writing and also just a downer. The character is to be...
That is a compliment I can give, the Muppets' outfits are lovely (really like Fozzie's tie) and also my friend pointed out the puppetry syncing seemed really polished. The camera work was creative. My issues with this film had nothing to do with how it looked. It looked fine.
The Muppet Show did have adult humor and it felt very natural. The Muppets (2015)'s humor felt more labored, like they were nudging me in the ribs.
Respectfully disagree. :)
Slightly off topic, but wanted to interject here. When that Fat Albert movie came out in 2004, Nick at Nite did this documentary/promo with Cosby and the cast. And every time Cosby tried to talk about the original show, something just felt off to me at the time. Like he referred to the...
Hi Bear Man, I want you to know, I took a long time thinking before responding to this. :)
Well as a Millennial, I think I understand where you're coming from as well. My generation is more into the snide comment thing and I'm no exception, it's fun. Thing is, the Kermit of Muppet Show or...
OK, so my best friend and I finally got to see this. My friend laughed at the bit of Busen tazing Beaker. But he paused and said, "...He used to be more subtle about it."
And I think that's my review for the whole show: They used to be more subtle about it.
I was able to detect a recurring...
Well the puppet itself was pretty rough but I could see the potential of Kermit liking a girl who's more quiet and sweet but still talented, vs loud and brash Piggy. You could understand why Piggy would feel threatened.
