Well, almost a year later and here is my reworked Boober replica now complete with a cap and his tale, a new head and more hair. The only thing he doesn't have in these pictures is his scarf.
There are still a couple of things I'm not perfectly happy with but on the whole he improved on my...
I know how you mean Chris, postage is a nightmare and the term "luxury fur" seems to have a different meaning in the UK as I have very rarely seen any fur like that on Mendels (or eBay) in the UK that is anything other than rough, scraggly fun fur.
For the Yellow puppet that is my Avatar at...
Sorry, just realised i didn't reply to the last post about Forgetful Jones.
I will add Forgetful Jones to some of the replicas I make between original commissions. I'm also making a few original puppets for my own children's show concept I've been working on, so the replicas kind of take a...
I did post a couple of pictures of one of these puppets a while ago, but thought i would update with the full final set. I was pushed for time so ended up with limited number of pictures taken on my iPhone rather than the usual studio shots, but it's better than nothing.
The puppets were all...
I hadn't actually seen that - not sure how when i was trawling for eye mechanism and such on google...
The original attempt I made on the puppet was a pully that the middle finger slipped into and simply tugged down to make it blink. The main issue was that it was only added after the skull...
Hi all,
You may remember the Floyd Pepper replica that I posted months back. I wondered if anyone had any ideas on what his eye mechanism is?
The only thing that bugged me about the final puppet was that i hadn't managed to create a stable eye mechanism to make him blink.
Any ideas?
Yeah, the teeth were white makeup sponges dipped in dye for a few seconds. The problem i always have with makeup sponge is that it's hard to cut it smooth for teeth, but in this case the rough, broken look works.
In the 1986 film musical, Audrey was a puppet. The film was directed by Frank Oz and while Jim Henson had no involvement, Audrey's principle puppeteer was Brian.
Hi yet again,
One final project I'm working on at the minute for myself is a working Audrey II puppet from The Little Shop of Horrors.
The version I have been working on is around the size of the stage 2 pod but with some of the features of the later pods. I think it is a little bit at the...
Hi again,
I've been doing a bit of work for a company called Snail Tales, who involve the person I did Gladstone the Gargoyle for. It involved three puppets, the first of which was the Medusa Wig.
The puppet would sit on the head of the user and contains three large snakes. Due to time...
Hi all,
It's been a while but i have a few new puppets to show off. The first one is this little monster puppet, who is up for auction on eBay.
He's a cute little guy and one of my first live hand puppets. He turned out well and I'm sure he will soon find a good home.
Check out his...
Here are the pictures of Gunther...sorry they seem a little blurry but I wasn't in my usual space so didn't quite get the focus right. Hope you like him.
Hi all,
Our latest puppet is finished and ready to go. His name is Gunther and he is a live hand "sack" puppet. I'll have some photos of him available soon, but for now here is his little webcam video. Hope you like him.
Yes the patterns were all Project Puppets...I don't remember exactly how much fur i added to the top, but i think it was about 5-6 inches from the top of the foam body to the join with the head.
One thing i would say is it depends what type of elmo you want to end up with. Elmo is one of the...
I didn't actually make it any bigger. I just added a bit more fabric to the top of the body pattern to extend his neck. The head, main body, arms and legs were exactly to the pattern.
