    Cookie Monster Replica

yes I think most of what I would have said has been covered off. I think it was a post on a forum here that first mentioned the pin and disc for cookies eyes and on close ups you can see it. One thing I did was to put the pin through then glue it into a piece of cork in the back so there was...

    Cookie Monster Replica

Hi, I bought it on ebay as a 10 metre roll end which worked out at £10 a metre. To get the whole puppet it took about a metre and a half to get a decent length body and another half metre to make the head and other little bits. If you wanted to buy some for that price I have more than enough...

    Cookie Monster Replica

Since making my replica of Animal, which was a working puppet but due to me going a bit large is better suited as a poser, I didn't know which well known puppet to have a go at next. My 1 year old decided for me as she fell in love with Cookie Monster after I let her watch Share it Maybe on...

Winchester...a puppet 12 years in the making.

Well after making my Animal replica and stitching every feather individually i did not want to do the same thing so the feathers are all from a roll of trim and layered apart from the wing tips and tail feathers which were larger feathers i attached to a piece of material and then used like...

Winchester...a puppet 12 years in the making.

Thanks. I have no doubt that at sometime i will be making a rebuild and the fish-line idea may well form part of that. And thanks for the web information, but i already have a place for him in my own website when the time comes.

Winchester...a puppet 12 years in the making.

Ok...that title is true but i should point out that i haven't been building him for the last 12 years lol. When I was 16 I drew a character on a scrap of paper while I was bored at work in my first job. Something about it made me want to draw him again. I still have the original sketch...

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

These were the last photos. The first was just one of the full puppet as he sits in my kitchen, and the second was one I did to use in a "I know someone famous" thing we did at work. It was funny the amount of people who actually asked if I'd really met Animal lol

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

Good luck. There are a couple of things I would do different if i did it again - mainly the eyelids lift up rather than moving around the eye, and also i discovered that you can buy lengths of the feathers which would be a lot quicker to do than the individual way...although it was a lot of fun...

    Jacob Marley Puppet on eBay

After a bit of deliberation I decided to sell my Jacob Marley puppet which was made at the end of last year. I made it as an accessory to a Scrooge costume, and as a demo model for a local stage show so it has a couple of small flaws, but these are minor and have been included in detail in the...

    Jacob Marley Puppet

After the success of taking my animal replica into a charity day at work, it has become a sort of expectation that i will arrive with a new puppet each time. The recent one had a theme of A Christmas Carol, and as I was being Scrooge for the day I thought a Jacob Marley puppet would be an ideal...

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

I worked out it took about 60 hours just to do the feathers.(roughly 2 hours a day for a month) It was definitely worth it.

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

The ones I used were shocking pink (or some listed them as hot pink). Honestly though there are so many different shades it's unreal.

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

I used ostrich feathers. I bought spandosas (I think that's what they were called) .Basically the big ones you usually get in table decorations at weddings.

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

Managed to get the "poser" body completed in time for him to play welcoming committee to my new daughter when she came home from hospital on Thursday. The fact that he was naked...less said the better.

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

Just finished the torso, arms and legs for the full "poser" style body. And just as an added quirk I think i'm the first person to give Animal ribs! lol

    And for my first puppet...Animal!

Puppetainer, don't worry - i'm straight from the school of thought CS Lewis followed when he put in the dedication in Lion, witch wardrobe which said something like you get older and leave behind childish things, but one day you will be old enough to lose your fear of being childish. I just...
