The Saddest thing that reminds you that you're old...

I just watched a clip from an episode of one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows, Drake and Josh. This particular episode "The Bet" aired aired fourteen years ago. Yes: FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. Scarily enough, I remember this episode clearly because the boys get so angry at the end that they wrestle...

    The New New Quote Thread

Elmer: "Well, whaddaya know! No more buwwets!" Bugs (mock surprise): "No more buwwets? Hey laughing boy, no more buwwets!" Daffy: "No more bullets? Here, let me see that thing!" (snatches Elmer's rifle and looks right into the barrel...BANG!) Elmer: "Well whaddaya know! ONE buwwet weft!"

    Little things we've noticed

Is it me, or does it sound like Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson are voicing the Snowths? I know that Frank puppeteered the Snowths, but I do hear a bit of Jerry's falsetto vocal style in this song.

    Little things we've noticed

I re-watched that skit and noticed that the hole is where the head and neck areas were supposed to connect. Thus, Caroll's hand and wrist are visible. Also, I think that this skit shows Big Bird at his absolute dumbest. I can just hear the David Attenborough commentary right now: "Let's...

    Little things we've noticed

Now I have even more respect for what Caroll did...imagine rollerskating, riding a unicycle, or bouncing on a trampoline while looking at either a small camera or through a curtain of feathers! Same must be true for Marty Robinson and Bryant Young when performing Snuffy. It also makes sense...

    Little things we've noticed

Has anyone else noticed that in the early SS specials that were shot on location, Big Bird had some type of neckwear? He sports a scarf in Christmas Eve, and he wears a necktie in Big Bird in China, Big Bird in Japan, and Don't Eat the Pictures. Was this to help Caroll Spinney perform more...

Jokes from stand-up comedy icon Rodney Dangerfield: "I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out!" "My wife and I were happy for twenty years. Then we met!" "I was so ugly when I was born that the doctor slapped my mother." "Some dog I got...we call him Egypt because in every room he...

    The New New Quote Thread

So I just watched two Family Guy videos with SS and Muppets references. Excellent stuff, especially the Swedish Chef scenes (didn't see that coming at all).

    Little things we've noticed

Speaking of which: I noticed that the Swedish Chef is one of three characters from the Muppet Show with five fingers. Kermit and Dr. Teeth are the other two; and coincidentally, all three Muppets were performed by Jim Henson.

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

It's from "Sesame Street Visits the Hospital" VHS, in which Maria takes Big Bird to the hospital after he becomes ill. He initially dislikes being there, but Maria explains that he needs to be there so that the doctors can make him better. Later, some of the Sesame Street residents stop by...

    Little things we've noticed

Speaking of Grover, has anyone else noticed that Grover rarely uses contractions (won't, can't, I'm) in his sentences? Frank Oz says that was a big part of developing Grover's character, but I noticed that Grover used a contraction in the big burger skit: "Let me sit down and talk to you. I...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

How about a Muppet movie based on a classic book like Tom Sawyer or Moby Dick? Or something modern like Harry Potter or the Hunger Games? Those are the ones that come to mind first. I mean, most of these Muppet adaptations were based on classic novels like Christmas Carol and Treasure Island...

One of my favorite jokes of all time (**with some language): "Because of my father, between the ages of seven and fifteen, I thought my name was Jesus Christ! [mimics his father yelling angrily] 'JESUS CHRIST!!!' And my brother Russell thought his name was D@mmit. [yells again] 'D@mmit, will...

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

"Rainbow Connection" is definitely an emotional song...it's Kermit longing for something missing in his life. A deep, deep song. I feel the same way about "Never Before, Never Again" because Miss Piggy sees her entire future in that moment when she sees Kermit. That entire slow-motion...

True, but still...some people are like Cookie Monster when it comes to self-gratification. I don't get why this contest was even a thing to begin with. Point is, I just don't understand how anyone could eat LC marshmallows ONLY.
