    The breakfast cereal thread

Sometimes I enjoy eating dry cereal. As in, out of the box. I've found that when I try to eat a bowl of cereal with milk, the cereal becomes soggy because I'm doing other things while eating (reading, working on the computer, playing games). The price I pay for attempting to multitask. Now...

    The breakfast cereal thread

Yes! I find the real cereal bits in LC to be the perfect addition because they're much less sugary (almost bordering on bland) and have more substance to them. They balance out the marshmallows really, really well. Speaking of marshmallows, there was recently a contest to win one of 10,000...

    The Funny Picture Thread

Reminds me of this: one time on the Today Show, Matt Lauer interviewed comedian Larry David and brought up a study that said that women prefer bald men over those with hair. Larry's response: "What a crock of sh**!"

The... -wait fer it-... "What made you laugh today?" Thread

I had that book. Now that I look back on it, the premise is kind of weird. Ernie is sick, and everyone is visiting him, making Big Bird jealous. In order to get some attention, Big Bird pretends to be sick, but then he actually becomes sick the next day! Big Bird realizes that Ernie was...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

Anything that has low ratings. Also I never got the hype surrounding Jersey Shore...to me, that show promoted negative stereotypes and I hate anything that does that. It wasn't funny at all.

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

I have to say that my Muppets Palisades action figures are my most prized possessions. The only major characters that I'm missing are Zoot, Sam the Eagle, and Rizzo the Rat. But I have all five playsets, as well as the complete Series 1, 2, 5, 6, and 9. I also love my Sesame Street vinyl...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

Does Disney-Pixar count? If so, I have two choices for favorite Disney flicks: I'd say The Lion King and Toy Story. Honorable mention: The Incredibles. Favorite Disney characters: A tie between Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh. Both of them are very endearing to me, and I've loved their shows...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

1: I used to watch lots of cable TV shows like Mythbusters, Cake Boss, Pardon the Interruption (ESPN), and Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Then we lost our cable, so now I mainly watch The Voice. I also spend time watching videos from well-known YouTube channels like Hot Ones, the Try Guys, Matt...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

SS: Cookie Monster, Grover, and Oscar (very honorable mentions to Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, and Telly Monster) Muppets: Kermit, the Swedish Chef, and the Electric Mayhem Band (forgive me, I can't choose just one EM member) FR: Gobo, Junior Gorg, and Traveling Matt (sorry, not as familiar with FR...

    Ask CJD874 Anything!

I've been on this forum for over five years, and I think it's time for me to do this, following in the footsteps of other MCF members that created similar threads. Go ahead and ask me anything, as long as it's forum-appropriate and not too personal.

A Sesame Street Thanksgiving Calendar Photo from 1974

I've seen this photo before, too. It's in the Sesame Street Library Volume 10 (1978). There's a speech bubble above Big Bird that reads something like, "Okay everybody, dig in!" (I had the SS Library as a kid, all the volumes except for 3, 14, and 15.)

    The "You know what?" thread

Pentatonix did a great medley of SS tunes where they included some rarer songs like "Just One Me," "Four, and "Five People in My Family." They even used the Pinball Number Count theme as an instrumental interlude of sorts. However, I agree that those five songs you mentioned are getting a bit...

    The "You know what?" thread

Totally agree. And that's what I love about Gordon Ramsay. He knows his contestants (young or old) so well that he knows exactly how to talk to them in any situation, whether they do well or royally screw things up. Plus with the PC culture we live in, Ramsay would get sued or his shows would...

    The "You know what?" thread

Not to divert the conversation but for some reason, all this talk of steaks reminds me of those savage Gordon Ramsay memes where he criticizes food: "This beef is so RAW...that I can still hear it mooing!" "This fish is so RAW...that it's still trying to find Nemo!" "Why did the chicken cross...

    The corny joke thread

Not sure if I've posted this before, but here goes: :(: Hey Ernie, would you like some ice cream? :p: Sherbert!

    Little things we've noticed

Well, one Lefty got ten days in the can for stealing a golden AN...sooooo... EDIT: And maybe his boss got twenty days in the can for robbing a man of his frying pan and his electric fan. Dunno what happened to Benny, Lefty #2, and their boss though.

    Little things we've noticed

Very true! One memorable exception is the skit in which Ernie gives Bert a doctor's checkup. When Bert faints at the end, Ernie says, "Is there a doctor in the house?" with some measure of concern. On the other hand, in the Grover the waiter sketches, it's clear that Grover doesn't really...

    R.I.P. Bud Luckey

I read a quote from Bud Luckey that really sums up his contributions to the world: "Years ago, I used animation to teach numbers [on Sesame Street], and now young people are teaching me how to animate using numbers." This shows how much one man can make a difference, and how he adjusted to the...
