some old clips - someone's gotta remember

Anyone for a "Crack on the wall" petition? I'm just kidding but it would really be nice if someone has that clip on the crack on the wall could just post it on youtube or if it were to by some chance be on the Sesame Street Old School DVD's. Closure people! We need some closure by seeing this...

Feast your eyes on this yet to be released DVD, many of us are waiting for it to be released on October 24 (I think) but otherwise there are DVDs with classic clips at various sites. http://www.amazon.com/gp/explorer/B000H6SY8C/2/ref=pd_lpo_ase/002-6554752-5562430?

    Monsters and the Letter C

Just a hunch I think what kuriboh man is referring to is the very vintage sketch with mostly anything muppet monsters including cookie monster and the green grover. Did you notice their voices are nothing like their present day voices? I'm kind of pressed for time otherwise I would have posted...

    Ernie and Bert Picture

Thanks for the clarification there Mrs. Pepper. Gotta admit it is a really cool pic seeing the behind the scenes thing with Frank and Jim, because its rare to have a pic of the muppeteers actually using the muppets.

    Ernie and Bert Picture

Very cool pic but I'm not sure which skit it came from. I remember one skit with Bert getting all dressed up and he had his hair all slicked back but I doubt that this is the skit in question.

some old clips - someone's gotta remember

I am so hoping that it comes out on youtube soon; I'm sure if we get to see the cracks on the wall cartoon we'll get that deja- vu feeling and get a bit scared.:o It'll be great to see it though. Let's hope someone sees our request and posts it.

    Subtle changes for muppets

Over the years, we have seen some changes in popular muppets like Ernie and Bert. I recall Ernie having a darker nose in the 1969- early 1970's seasons. From there we saw similar changes in Bert as well. Which look for Ernie and Bert do you prefer? I like the 1980's look for both Ernie and Bert...

    Gordon appreciation thread

Gordon to me was always the Father type figure on Sesame Street (next to Mr. Hooper) and I'm glad to see he's still around on the show. I really want to commend Mr. Orman for all that time he put into the Gordon character and I admire the effort he still puts into his role.

    Funniest Sesame Street sketches

Are these the alphabet limericks with the hound called Fred and Harry the horse? If so, they are hilarious! I especially like the one about the Lion called Ned and he said "Needle naddle noo and ticky tacky stew", very silly but did it ever had my sides splitting.

    Props on Sesame Street

I had no idea! That sign deserves to be there because of what it represents and the impact that this show did for us then kids.

    Captain Vegetable's only sketch?

Remember that sketch in the 80's with Captain Vegetable? Really hilarious! Some said he was scary, but he was the best. Was this sketch the only one where Captain Vegetable did? Or did he do any other sketches? Eddie: "Spaghetti is great...BUT WAIT!!...Who are you?!!! Some kind of a weirdo???"...

    Props on Sesame Street

I could be mistaken, but did I see a Fozzie Bear muppet being auctioned recently? I wonder if they did the same for the other muppet originals? Where's Sherlock Hemlock when you need him? ;)

    Elmo: pre Kevin Clash

Sorta looks like him Come to think about it, check this pic of Baby monster with another muppet named Scudge and to some degree it looks a bit like Elmo. What do you think? http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Scudge

    Fuzzyface on Sesame Street

My memory of him is very vague, he did not look at all like the lovable character that he is today. He definitely looks better blue. Probably he wasn't aware of the things he did affected others. (I use those terms loosely). Even when he was blue, remember the way he ran up to Kermit and slap...

    Research Help

I'm not sure if this will be of any help... But I googled Linda Bove Sesame Street Articles and I got about 10-12 scholarly looking articles, a lot of it is in pdf format. Otherwise, I recalled (or probably not) seeing a picture of an original newspaper clipping on hooperfan.com of the first...

    Soft Drink Parody

I remember seeing an old soft drink ad back in the 70's or thereabouts (was it Dr. Pepper?), it featured a kid asking a football player for an autograph, I think... but the football player ignored the kid but shortly later gave the kid a towel. Anyone remember that one? But, Sesame Street did a...

    Fuzzyface on Sesame Street

Vague memory... Very vague recollection of Fuzzyface (was that his name seriously?...I had no idea!). A sketch featuring Ernie with some balloons, Ernie had problems counting the balloons; so here comes Fuzzyface (aka Green Grover) and pops the balloons one by one and the problem is solved...

    What happened to Shurlock Hemlock?

Wow, Thanks...I never knew that he made such an appearance so recently. Assuming that Jerry Nelson did his voice, it would have been the genuine thing so to speak. Its funny that he said he met the letter X in the 70's. Great Trivia...thanks again.

    Funniest Sesame Street sketches

Good one Ziffel! I forgot about that one, I never really thought about the depth of that humor as a kid, but now I get it! I loved the "zoned-out" look on the clerk's eyes when he got frustrated. I hope it comes out on youtube soon.
