Empire acquires rights to Jim Henson screenplay

I do agree with others who've stated Frank Oz would be the best choice for this. We'd have to see what his immediate schedule would look like, though. As long as they do it fairly and honestly, I'd love to see it. At the moment, though, I am a little worried that they will decide to...

    Opening sequence mysteries

I also find it rather amusing how everyone stares at Gobo for about 3 seconds after he splashes down, then immediately look back to the camera to continue the theme, as if that sort of thing has happened lots of times before.

    The first 25 years

Also in 1992, I believe, Mr. McIntosh leaves the show.

    Don Music

Occasionally in the 80s, they did put a News Flash bumper at the beginning of Don Music sketches, probably because it seemed to work anyway.

    Fraggle Rock Dark Ride

Having slept on it, I've got more of a handle on what the "danger" portion might be like: As we pass by the Minstrels, Cantus is waving a free hand at us, requesting we not go further down the tunnel. Of course we do, and it turns out to be the Terrible Tunnel (perhaps a flimsy KEEP OUT...

    Fraggle Rock Dark Ride

Good, it worked then. Basically in coming up with it, I amalgomated the basic memories of the storylines of similar dark rides over the years: meeting everyone while going off on a rudimentary adventure, all the while distilling the themes of the property into 4 minutes or so. In this case...

    Fraggle Rock Dark Ride

Exactly how big a garage are we discussing here? And what kind of budget are we looking at? If the latter's no concern, here's how I might do it: Entering through the workshop is good. As the viewer turns to go into the hole, the theme kicks in, slowly but surely. Down the hole they go...

New behind-the-scenes book to celebrate Fraggle Rock

Now I'm wondering if this will include behind-the-scenes photos and the like, or, copyrights permitting, a script transcript or two. These would be excellent icing on the cake.

    Your Thoughts: MC’s 10th Birthday

    1. I joined in winter 2006, although I had dropped in occasionally before that on a visiting basis. 2. Probably getting much descriptions of older moments that were lurking in the back of my mind, but I could quite piece together immediately. 3. I'm a pragmatist (at least I think that's...

    JHP Kermit's Arm variations

Exactly how many different variations of the early 90s logo were there? I remember for certain: -Kermit's arm holds up the title card, which the arrow nails to the wall -Kermit's arm pulls down the blind with the logo on it, then lets it go and snap back up -Kermit's arm holds up the...

    Opening sequence mysteries

These have always intrigued me, perhaps someone else has their own theories: -what do you suppose Doc is screwing together when we go into the workshop? -interesting how the entire Rock seems to be waiting for Gobo to return from wherever he was before the camera caught up with him; do...

    Benazir Bhutt assassinated.

I in fact had the honor of hearing Bhutto give a lecture at college several years ago, and she came off as a person with quiet determination and a strong sense of rationality that the rest of the region seems to have lost in the confusion. In general Pakistan could in fact use the Muppets at...

Remember these details of early 1990s episodes?

I do remember when The Very Hungry Caterpillar was read to the kids (I think it was Maria reading it), but I think that aired first sometime in the late 80s.

    Ditsie colors

It's a possibility mood and geography factor into it. Perhaps now that I think of it the colors reflect how the Ditsies are feeling at any given moment. Or, on the other hand, maybe it could also be heat distribution in the Rock, that perhaps warmer areas cause warmer color bursts.

    Ditsie colors

What's your theory on why some seem to give off white light and others colored lights depending on the cavern? I'm guessing it probably has to do with subspecies, that different ones give different light colors.

    Put Down the Duckie celebrities

As well here; I didn't care if older celebrities were shown during my prime watching years, not only because I didn't know many of them anyway, but as long as they were entertaining, I didn't care who was on the air.
