Well, Floyd is always making fun of Piggy, making fat jokes about her and such. But Floyd makes wisecracks about almost everyone, so she shouldn't take it personally. But you know Piggy. She doesn't take any guff from anyone, least of all Floyd.
I wouldn't think it would cause too much trouble. Worst case scenario SSW would request the clips be taken down. So far that hasn't happened to my knowledge, and they most certainly would be aware of their existence by now. So it would seem on the surface that they don't have a problem with this.
The first time I saw it was on CBC in Canada back the 70's when it first aired. I hadn't seen it since then until a few years ago when it aired on a PBS station I get on cable(I'm not sure which affiliate it is). But I do remember the tag was included in that airing.
Even though Big Bird is male, I wouldn't read too much into Gonzo's crush on him. Gonzo probably didn't know he was male.
And when he was auditioning a new act during the Steve Martin episode(I think that was the one), he was dancing with a female cheese, as he told Kermit: "Of course it's a...
I believe she also played Goldie Hawn's therapist in "Death Becomes Her". And if memory serves, she played a nurse on one of the first season episodes of Friends.
From the description, it sounded to me like this will be a "best of" compilation of various skits and songs. Which actually appeals to me more than full episode DVD's, although that would be cool as well.
I guess they saw the success of the Electric Company DVD's and finally realized there...
I tried watching the clip but the sound was so muffled I could barely understand what they were saying anyway, although from the description I had a pretty good idea what they were talking about.
Ernie also tried to take Bert's bowling ball into the bathtub with him(but Bert won't let him). Ernie's explanation was "you never know who might show up wanting to borrow a bowling ball". After the lights went out and it started raining, the AM showed up saying there was a bowling tournament...
I agree with most that it was too short, and we should have gotten to see more of his acceptence speech. It also would have been a nice touch if they had Big Bird present the award to him.
I was just thinking about what other muppets have done Kermit's trademark handwaving "YAAAYYYY!!!!" when introducing an act on the Muppet Show. Here's what I've come up with:
Robin(Kenny Rogers episode)
Miss Piggy(Kenny Rogers episode)
Swedish Chef(Linda Rhondstadt episode)
The Frog...
Yes, I remember that now. If memory serves, the Count was also asked his favorite number and he named of some huge number(8, 256, 321 or something like that).
I have that skit uploaded on YouTube. Basically Grover talks about teeth, but has to put false teeth in Kermit's mouth(initially against his will of course). Grover then proceeds to get everything wrong with Kermit correcting him each time:
"You need to see a tooth-checker(dentist)"
"You...
I always laughed whenever Grover would run up to Kermit yelling "HEEEYYYY FROGGY BABY!!!!!!!" and proceed to slap him on the back, making Kermit double over. I remember once, Kermit got him back once "HEEYYYYY GROVER BABY!!!!" but I can't remember which skit it was.
I believe he did Kermit's dance partner Mary Louise in one of the At The Dance sketches. Can't remember which episode that was, but I believe it was the first season. And he did the voice of the woman in the "I Feel Pretty" number after she morphed into a monster.
That's all I can think...
