I did enjoy this movie very much. I loved that it was set in the old Muppet Show theatre. It was the best Muppet production since Jim passed away, IMO.
I've watched Emmett Otter already. Others on my list to watch are:
Muppet Family Christmas
Muppet Christmas Carol
It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie
The Christmas Toy
Christmas Eve On Sesame Street
I believe that was posted on You Tube recently. I'm not sure what the best search criteria would be, but if you do a search for Classic Sesame Street, you should find it listed(but you may need to go through a number of pages).
Maybe not. As recently as a few years ago, it aired here in Canada uncut, after the split. As long as it's on TV and not a DVD release, I don't think any rights need to be cleared, although I could be wrong.
I think I read somewhere that SW doesn't own this, and that's why it has never been re-broadcast or released on home video or DVD. I think it might be owned by CBS.
I just thought of one specific example. Just after the Vincent Price panel discussion sketch(where Gorgon Heap ate Kermit), Waldorf made the joke they should call the Consumer Board(or something like that) because the host just got consumed. Kermit then pops up between them and says something...
I picked this up yesterday at Best Buy. The cashier actually asked if I was going to watch it myself, I guess to see if I was a fan like her, or if I was buying it for my kid or something.
I only had a chance to watch the first disc. The pitch reel was very cool, as I'd only seen bits of...
While I appreciate your situation, I am of the belief that once something is available on DVD, it should not be shared on YouTube or any other file-sharing site. Sesame Workshop has been extremely lenient on YouTube for allowing their stuff to be posted for so long, but I expect with the DVD...
I thought this was a nice compromise for all the fans who were requesting the Classic stuff on DVD. Some wanted full season sets(or at least full episodes in volume sets). Some wanted "best of" compliations of their favorite skits and songs. I would have perferred a "best of" set myself, but...
Well, they're often referred to as "Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem" on the Muppet Show. My guess is because Jim performed Dr. Teeth, and is seen as the "leader" of the Muppets.
The only example I can think of off the top of my head is the episode where Kermit was a patient for Veternarians Hospital(I believe it was the Kenny Rogers episode).
Last night on WWE Smackdown, Brian Kendrick used a move that's hard to describe, but the announcers said he calls the move "Dr. Teeth". I have to assume he had the Muppets in mind when he named the move.
The only Muppet movie I didn't see in a theatre was Muppet Treasure Island. I've seen The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppets From Space all in the theatre. I don't really count the Sesame Street movies(Follow that Bird and...
