How's the weather where you are?

Well it's another pretty nice day (84F, 29C). Now they're saying we will continue to get low 80's the rest of the week instead of the upper 70's that were forecasted for part of them. So not quite the perfect delightful days but still nice and SO much better than the hot and humid days we had...

    Minor Muppetz becomes Mr. 1000

Hey big congratulations there minor muppetz! I just logged on for the first time today and see this as the newest post. Cool I get to be the first to reply (that is, unless someone has beaten me to it as I am typing this!) And indeed someone has! I just hit preview post and scrolled down and...

    Songs of Joe Raposo

Also, how about this song: When I'm hungry, I eat. When I'm thirsty, I drink. There's a hook on all the fish I catch. And when I'm itchy, I scratch. When I'm tired, I sleep. When I'm sneaky, I creep. I get my fires lit up with a match. And when I'm itchy, I scratch. Hey buzz off fly just...

    A couple more alphabet segments

That is a real fun alphabet sketch. It seems to be pretty popular. I've come across it several times here in the classic SS threads. Matter of fact, I mentioned it myself just three days ago. :) I was making a point about how just going by the alphabet sketches alone is enough to see how...

    A couple more alphabet segments

Yay, thank you Xerus! Glad someone else recalls it too. :) And yeah it sure does sound like Henson and Oz doing the voices of these muppets. Never had thought about it. What a team they made!

    Happy Birthday Amazing Mumford

Happy Birthday, Amazing Mumford. For your special day today, don't say "ala peanut butter sandwiches" but say "Ala birthday cake" (or maybe apple pie ala mode?) Then when you blow out the candles and make a wish, you can make it come true since you're a magician!

MC Awards Volume 2: The Ceremony

Congratulations to all you fine winners so far! And thanks so much to all who voted for me. And a special thanks to Vic Romano and minor muppetz for the categories they voted me for. It really made my day (no, week is more like it!). You folks are wonderful. I'm glad there was a generous...

    Sesame Street films

Yes that's exactly right that he sang just the one line (and in a high pitched voice) and then walked away. However, I'd bet you a cookie and a milkshake at Mr. Hooper's store that it was "A,Ape" and not "G,Gorilla". I can clearly picture the sound of that little cartoon man saying, "A" at the...

How's the weather where you are?

And just as promised (well, I guess forecasted doesn't necessarily equate to promised) it's pretty nice here today. 81F,27C, low humidity, sunny, and a nice breeze. And to be continued for at least a week. :D The nights will be pretty good sleeping weather coming up (Tuesday night they're...

    T*K*O-"The Unkillable Thread"

Wow I didn't realize some shows these days only go to 13-19 per year. I don't watch very many new ones but thought they still often begin in September and finish around May, as in the past which usually resulted in about 25 total. Guess reruns crop up more frequently these days, eh? And maybe a...

    T*K*O-"The Unkillable Thread"

Just going by the usual number of episodes released on the tv shows I have on dvd. They often have 3 discs with 8 episodes each. The Muppet Show season one has 24 episodes also but distributed on 4 discs with 6 shows each. So was just using 24 as a common benchmark. :)

    What's your favorite baseball team?

I used to love watching "This Week in Baseball" each week. Especially when Mel Allen did it. His voice was unique and great to listen to and his heart for the game came through loud and clear. Loved his famous. "How about that!". The show had great footage of the top errors and bloopers of the...

    A couple more alphabet segments

An alphabet sketch I've brought up a couple of times before (like in the "what sketches scared you as a kid" thread) was the one with two anything muppets (one red and one green) that take turns saying the letters of the alphabet. It always used to scare me at the beginning when the screen was...

Your Favorite Cartoons on Sesame Street

As you were describing this one it wasn't ringing a bell at all. But then when you said the last part, "Exit! Good bye!" it came back to me! Funny how often the most vivid parts I recall are the closings. It's like one Ernie and Bert skit has Ernie saying at the end, "Let's see, a marble is...

    T*K*O-"The Unkillable Thread"

Well that was a lot of fun reading episode #11. I laughed many times! You guys do a great job, TA and D'Snowth. What a hilarious incorporation of me as the anti-thread killer! And the delicious irony of Mrs. Pepper calling me a little pig (since Fred Ziffel has a "son", Arnold Ziffel who is a...

Your Favorite Cartoons on Sesame Street

And another animated sketch came to mind. And sketch really is the right word too! It was the one where a little girl kept saying, "What if I took this pencil and connected these lines like so..." And she sketches various things like a building and skyscraper.

How's the weather where you are?

Would have been great if you were. :) The only thing that marred things a little bit was the darn yellow jackets. They get pretty bad here August through October and they were attracted to all the picnic food. It was rather fun seeing some ladies leap up out of their seats and scream, though...

    SS question.

That sounds like a pretty plausible explanation to me, Rosewood. As much as I liked The Electric Company, I liked Sesame Street even better. And the one hour vs. half hour was yet one more aspect I liked about SS. I was always sad how fast TEC would be over, whereas it would be so nice after...

How's the weather where you are?

Hot today (just reached 90F, 32C) but not so bad humidity. And tomorrow starts a long stretch of beautiful weather, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy! They had a cookout outside at work for us today so I barely ate anything for breakfast and probably won't eat much for dinner. Had 2 hamburgers, 2 hotdogs...
