I hated those stupid faces Whitmire made Kermit have. One moment his Kermit was a depressed sad sack, and the next he was making derpy faces.
I was watching Follow That Bird with my daughter yesterday and in that one brief scene Kermit was in he was funnier and oozed more personally than...
No he didn't. Bean just wasn't very popular, and was eventually phased out. Whitmire playing Kermit had nothing to do with it. As for Rizzo, he had an incredibly healthy career for the first twenty years that Steve was playing Kermit, and had a major role in the 2015 TV show. His absence from...
Why do people say stuff like this? Kermit was Jim's main character, but he managed to perform Rowlf, Dr. Teeth, Waldorf and the Swedish Chef in almost every Muppet production of the late '70s and through the '80s.
Whether characters get used or not is entirely up the writers.
One of them one of the oldest attractions at the park and the other is a barely themed restaurant. Meanwhile, the fountain became a planter, the Muppetvision signage was cut back significantly and the Kermit balloon was removed.
If this area isn't something else completely by the end of 2018...
Why? He really is a nothing character that anyone could play. Even if he wasn't recast and just disappeared how many people outside of hardcore fans would even notice?
Beaker will be back before we know it. He's too popular not to return ASAP.
The rest of them? They're such low priority characters that I doubt Disney will be in a rush to recast any of them. Lips is overrated anyway.
Bean hasn't just been silent for what seems like an eternity. He's been completely gone. With Whitmire also gone, any chance of Bean ever coming back is completely nil.
Why do people keep acting like he's an active character in need of recasting?
I love how black and white this all is to some people.
"They haven't had anything to do with the characters in years so they shouldn't say anything or get involved!"
What is this? A cartoon? That's not how life works.
Technically, yes they do. You can argue to the cows come home that they might not have had a lot of input lately, but they're still Jim's family, owned the characters for a significant length of time before Disney bought them and know Whitmire better than anyone on this forum does, correct? So I...
Forget about the fans. Speaking out could potentially jeopardize their CAREERS. Regardless of how they might feel about this situation, they're not going get involved like that.
We're too far from Jim's Kermit to ever get back to that ever again. I'm done expecting anything remotely like the Kermit I grew up with. Although Steve was Kermit for 26 years I can't say I ever warmed up to his portrayal. And the more time passed the more I was getting tired of his Kermit.
So...
The second movie, regardless of whether you can argue that it's good or not, made less than half of what the first one did worldwide and made its budget back domestically by just over a million dollars. That was NOT good at all.
Box office failures don't help a brand either.
And if I could...
