You’re overthinking my response. I said “characters LIKE Elmo and Cookie Monster”. I’m sure they could identify others.
But clearly what mainstream audiences expect from these characters is NOT what that TV show gave them. Honestly, mainstream audiences just expect a quick nostalgia fix and...
I think most people think of characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster singing and dancing around. I think for the most part the mainstream audience has a very limited view of what the Muppets are.
Hey all.
I’d had a Master Replicas Kermit since it was released. It’s slightly used but in great condition. It spent a while on display but was very lightly handled. Box is in great condition and everything is accounted for. I’m looking to sell it. Anyone interested?
I didnt like the 2015 series very much, but it got A LOT better when Fozzie stopped getting any focus. I think it was both the writing and Eric’s recent performance as the character, which I really don’t like.
You are? I dont think I’ve seen anywhere near enough of him as Kermit to form a final opinion.
Get back to me when Matt plays Kermit through a full length film or a television series...
It doesn’t need to be shut down. Someone should unsticky it and let nature take its course. But if someone wants to post something in it, they should have the option.
But wanting a thread closed because YOU no long have a use for it seems silly.
Why is everyone here so sensitive?
You guys really think this discussion has gotten heated? Really?!?! I've been on the internet for a very long time. I've seen a whole lot worse. This thread is nothing compared to what I've seen in some fandoms, and I don't really think anything that's...
I say forget doing any more TV shows. With the exception of The Muppet Show (which I believe was a huge fluke) history doesn't favor television series featuring this group of Muppet characters. I don't see that ever changing.
If a Muppet show is going to succeed or fail it's not going to be because of who performs Kermit. The Jim Henson Hour failed pretty hard, and that was the brainchild of Henson himself.
The casual audience needed to make any new TV a success isn't going to stick with it or abandoned it just...
What does everyone think is the most iconic Big Bird "look" in Sesame Street history?
For me personally, it's the early-to-mid '80s give or take a few years. The version of Big Bird that appears in "Follow That Bird" is what I consider to be MY Big Bird.
I can't stand how the character looks now.
I watch classic Sesame Street with my daughter. No one judges me for being nostalgic for what I enjoyed as a child.
I have absolutely no interest in modern Sesame Street though.
