Hey Group,
I haven't posted since January of this year (has it been that long?) so I thought I'd drop by and see what's new.
I'm totally jazzed by the release of Season One of the Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock on DVD. I can't buy them just yet, since I'm going on a trip to England next...
There's something about Joaquin Phoenix that's just creepy. I can't watch him.
However, Bridget Jones and the Edge of Reason is coming out I think at Christmas. They're promising another great sissy fight between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant!

Does anyone have any Muppety licene plate frames or a vanity plate? All I have is a Kermit on my antenna. And he's getting pretty grungy from freeway driving.....

Agreed. It was the best Tony show in years. Although, I did miss the behind the scenes bits at the beginning about the costumes, set design, etc. I guess they did away with it to make more time for the theatrical numbers. Can't complain too much.
I didn't think Avenue Q had a chance. I thought...
Today on Playbill.com it was announced that Avenue Q will not tour as previously expected. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/86723.html
It will have a "permanent" home in Las Vegas. This is a bummer because a lot of folks hoping it would come to their town will miss out. I've been...
With Rowling's dedication to using traditional storytelling structure, I think maybe Harry may die and then be reborn in some way like many mythic heroes (even Buffy!). I don't think he'll end up dead for good.

Muppet related license plate frames
I'm thinking of getting a license plate holder that says "Life's like a movie, write your own ending."
Does anyone else have a muppet related license plate frame?

I just got home from NY. We saw Wicked, Avenue Q and Little Shop of Horrors.
First Little Shop: The plant was definitely spectacular. I can't say a lot without giving a lot away, but it was very impressive. I wanted to wait at the stage door and meet the puppeteers, but I didn't think...
Just finished the book and saw the musical
I finished the book last week right before my NY vacation. I wanted to read it because we had tickets to the musical. The musical version veers wildly from the book, but I think they did a great job of boiling down a book that tends to ramble. They...
I saw the Azkaban trailer. Looks great! Are they getting new kids for Goblet? And will Jason Isaacs back as Lucius Malfoy? That dude has got to be one of the best bad guys ever!

I read the book in a Children's Lit course and I loved it! The word play had me laughing so hard tears were falling from my eyes. I couldn't believe I'd never found it when I was a kid.
I didn't know there was a movie. I'll have to be on the lookout for it.

Excuse me. Perhaps I should have qualified my statement and said that "some" or "many" parents don't know the difference between educational and entertainment television.
To say no parent is that dumb is over-reaching in some cases. Just because people have children that doesn't...
Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them was roll on the floor hysterical one moment and rage-inducing the next. The man has a gift for parody and irony that has managed to turn me Kermit-green with envy.
Interestingly, Franken sites all of his sources, which is something many...
I used to teach preschool and I too was disturbed that so few kids watched Sesame Street. I even had one parent tell me that they didn't watch Sesame Street. Her daughter was a "Disney girl." My head actually exploded when she said that. I kid you not. There were brains on the bulletin...
