You mean "
Disney's Blu-Ray"? heh~
All companies are now releasing on Blu-ray (the chosen format now that HDDVD is now kaput), but every company has a different style of incorporating their seamless menus.
When the viewer wants to look at different features they access the menu and it pops up while the film is playing. Some films do this and it looks really slick and fluid. Tim Burton's "Big Fish" is a nice example. The menu rises from the bottom and tucked a little over the image, but the film's image-to-screen ratio remains the same. With Pixar films (and I think Disney as well) the image shrinks into this little box atop a graphically designed screen with a bunch of text and options on it. It's not quite as pretty as you'd expect from Disney or Pixar.
Warner Brothers' menus are notoriously the worst. Most of them are choppy ugly messes. However, they all look better than the standard DVD menu that forces you out of the film.
The Chipmunks' menu looks pretty. It can be seen
here in the image on the back of the box under the words Smart Menu Technology. That little band appears over the film in play only when accessed and the user can pause the film if they choose. Pretty cool! Can't wait to try it out. Wish I had a player, but my partner does. At least I don't pay his electric bill - those things eat up so much juice!
