So you've seen Ringo twice? Way cool - when I saw the band, the lineup had Greg Lake (fave singer and the reason I went), Howard Jones, Sheila E., Roger Hodgson, Ian Hunter and the ever-present Mark Rivera.

As for the Musketeers sketch, I'm still wondering if Jim, Richard and Dave walked off the set with their tongues tied in knots.

Now, as for seeing Richard on camera for extended periods in "Puppetman..." I'm probably being picky, but I don't think he was on camera enough.
But seriously - it was wicked cool; we get to see more of him than just his right arm. It's fun to watch him at work behind the scenes, and he had some of the best lines in the show. It's as you said - Del's probably intended to be a parody of what Richard was in real life; brilliant puppeteer, really good with children, but absolutely no patience for diva types like Rita.

I also noticed something: when Zack came into the room, Del was sitting down - and after he gave Zack a kiss, Del was able to lift Zack up onto the table without getting up from his chair. The way I see it, that took a certain amount of upper arm strength.

Of course, considering what Richard had been doing for the last 17 years (or 20+ if you count the puppet shows he did as a kid), it's a given that he'd have a lot of upper arm strength.

Yeah he's such a great showman, so energetic, especially when he does his whole, "What's my name? !" bit (RINGO!)

Lol no I completely agree, I kept thinking the same thing. Wow, I was thinking, what if he had become some kind of recognizable sitcom mainstay? !

That's a good point about the upper body strength! Hehe

I know, behind the scences stuff is awesome, but they always leave you wanting more! Just wondering, are any of you going to buy The Christmas Toy DVD or new Emmet Otter DVD (if it's different from the old one, or if you haven't gotten it yet). They don't know about bonus features yet, fingers crossed!

That's a gooood point! Lol, of course I'd want him to do what made him happy, hehe. But it probably would have been difficult. Then again he was doing Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock at the same time. I get the impression he always tried to make time for the Muppets no matter what. Like he said, when he was a kid, "I'd drop anything to watch them!"

Sort of like with me and Undertaker matches. Yes, I love The Muppets, but I consider The Phenom on the same level as them, personally speaking as a fan of both.

Yeah I identify, I'm always finding other interests (i.e. the Marx Brothers hehe) that occupy my attention, but it's still always fun to come back here.

Yeah - it'd have been cool to see more of the show. I did read somewhere - I think it was on the "Your Face" site - that Richard had actually written a few script treatments for "Puppetman." So it seems he took a genuine interest in the show...and I'd love to see what kind of stuff he wrote.

However, I agree...if "Puppetman" actually made it past the pilot episode, Richard probably would have had to have been away from the Muppets for extended periods of time, and I seriously doubt that he'd have wanted that.

Yeah I'm sure he wold have worked it out. I think it's great that he was such a free spirit that only the Muppets would really satisfy.

I don't mean to repeat myself, hehe, I'm just curious, is anyone going to buy the Christmas Toy and Emmet Otter DVDs?

Yeah I'll have to see if there's any new bonus features. I'm torn. I already have it on VHS (and with Kermit included!) but VHS's don't last forever!
