Ah, yes - Chris Smigliano got to experience what most fans can only dream about: a phone call from none other than Richard. You gotta love that cartoon that's posted with the article, the one with Richard in a straitjacket.

As for Muppets Go to the Movies: well, Fozzie got the title credits wrong. "I told you I was a bad speller."

Loved the chariot race, of course, and I was stifling quite a few giggles during "Silent Strawberries." "Hi-ho, Olaf the Frog here!" In the meantime, there's Sam reading the English translation of the movie...and becoming increasingly flustered. And of course, I loved Scooter's turn as the Scarecrow in the "Wizard of Oz" medley - then again, who wouldn't?

And then there were Dudley and Lily's jokes about the subtitles in "The Unpleasant Things From Outer Space," and the silent movie spoof...like I said, I was stifling quite a few giggles.

The Muppets in general give us giggles. And it was because of Jim's creative genius & due to Richard's enthusiasm that certain characters captured our hearts.

You know I saw this special years ago and ended up developing something of a crush on Dudley, lol. Sucker for the English thing I guess, hehe.

But anyway, I love how Wizard of Oz is Janice's "favorite flick of all time...fer sure!" Makes sense as it was one of Jim's favorites too. I can totally see Janice reading the book to her fellow band members, with her own little twist of course (and I thought of this before seeing that Muppet Babies episode hehe).

And I like Janice's brief interaction with Miss Piggy, how she's sort of hoping to get the pretty lead female role but sadly it always has to go to the pig!

And yes "Olaf the Frog here" ALWAYS cracks me up, as does the entire sketch! LOL (Btw, Gummo is a reference to the Marx Brother who left the act before they became famous!)

And Floyd and Janice's duet, that was the first time I noticed how cool and different Janice's voice was (and way before I knew who Richard was). And that scene with the cowboys, where Richard has a line as the cow. I remember thinking "You know, that's a voice I always identify with the Muppets!"

I really liked Floyd and Janice doing "Act Naturally," because it took me back to the first time I heard that song; it was when Ringo Starr was on tour with the All-Starr Band in 2001, and I got to see them live. Good times.

One of my favorite sketches was the Three Musketeers sketch, with Athos, Porthos and..."Gummo?" "A musketeer named Gummo?" And you notice that Gonzo and Scooter made it through all the tongue-twisting lines about the Pimpernel, that simple wimp, and his lumpy pumpernickel crumpets from Humperdinck's, while Link completely bungled it. And of course:

"Why me, I'm not the strong one."
"No, you're the stupid one!"

Omg, you saw him too? I've seen Ringo twice, he's awesome. And his rendition of Act Naturally has such charm.

That was just the perfect Muppet scene. Parody and lame puns and tongue twisters, characters all contributing something different, it just worked.

MuppetNewsgirl, so what was it like to see Richard for like an extended period of time in Puppetman, longer than we're used to?
