Aw, you should go for it! It's always nice to have a back-up. And if there are great bonus features, that'll be even nicer.

That's something I'm kind of worried about is all the talk about Kermit maybe being cut out of it... I'm really hoping he won't be. If it is edited, that may affect my decision to get it, at least for right now. But again, I'm still trying to decide, lol. :coy:

Which ever way you decide to do it, either with the DVD or with your VHS, I hope you'll be happy with it!

Thanks, Skye! Yeah it is a bit of a quandry, Kermit's bit at the beginning is such a big memory for me and kinda sets up the whole story. And they'd pretty much have to cut out the whole last scene. I guess it will mainly depend on the bonus features for me. But I'd recommend to my friends who never saw it (better than nothing!)

Btw, someone posted the commercials from the original broadcast, really puts you in the Christmas mood!

Yeah I'll have to see if there's any new bonus features. I'm torn. I already have it on VHS (and with Kermit included!) but VHS's don't last forever!
Neither do DVDs. Plus, with Kermit most likely cut due to legal/copyright reasons, the DVD may not be up to snuff.

Sorry I haven't been here in a while, but I had a very vivid Richard dream last night. Sort of out of the blue, and it sounds crazy, but it really, really felt like I was talking to him. I don't really remember what he said, but he was definitely at peace.

Anyway I'm here to ask if this happened to anybody else. Just to see if it is double-weird.

Oh, wow...what else do you remember about it?

But that is really sweet, and reassuring, too - there's Richard indicating that he's at peace in the world beyond this one.

I don't remember much else. I had been kind of buggy the night before, cause I had been getting weird vibes, like he was standing behind me, or something. Again, I'm coming off completely crazy.

Anyway the only bits I remember about the dream are that A) He was fairly close to death at that point, but kept varying wildly in appearance of age, B) Frank Oz was there, and C) I remember feeling that he was really easy to talk to, and had a very comforting demeanor, and that my role in the dream was to just bring him things he needed or ask him questions about his life, even though we were meeting for the first time. Oh and D) It was in New York, upstairs, in some kind of dusty cabin bedroom with wooden walls.

I really wish I could remember what he said, though. Not that it was any indication of anything he would have said. xD

I like that - I really like that. And I've had the vibes too from time to time.

I think it all stems from a hidden, subconscious (or maybe not-so-subconscious) wish that some of us have probably had - that we could have been there to offer Richard some moral support (and maybe a hot bowl of soup or an extra quilt) when he was nearing the end of his life. But I guess what your dream also means is that everything's okay now, he doesn't have to worry about the virus or the drug regimens and ten million other unpleasant things anymore.

Maybe Frank Oz was there because of the e-mail Steve read for Richard's big tribute show, especially the part about all the visits and vigils. And it sounds like the cabin where this took place would have been in upstate New York, probably in the Adirondacks or near Niagara Falls (which is a place I repeatedly have dreams about, for some reason).
