Kermit broke up with her.
Actually, Denise broke up with Kermit, it seems. But I see where it's a little vague because Denis suspected that  was still in love with . Though that is another thing that got to me. The Kermit/Piggy relationship was never fully resolved in the last episode of The Muppets. I mean we never did find out what happened. Sources say it seems like they did get back together, but then shortly after with the news about Miss Piggy hosting something on the Oddysey channel or something like that, it was mentioned she's still enjoying the single life. This is kind of why we need new Muppet projects so we have a better idea of what happened, so hopefully once we see Matt as , that will be cleared up at some point as well.

Yeah like I know after the show got cancelled, Kermit did say at Vulture Festival that things were the same with the breakup. So nothing really got resolved.

I'd like something to be addressed in the future.

Also Edit: But with Kermit having this reputation of being depressed, look at it from a story perspective:

In VMX, he kind of has to be upset ya know? They were gonna lose their theater, and also they're doing a parody so they have to follow the story.

And same goes for the 2011 movie, all of The Muppets had split up and Kermit had lost hope and thought the world didn't want them anymore. He shouldn't be happy about that? Maybe he thought someone would believe but in time that faded away.

And with MMW, I was watching it again and kind of thought about that idea of Kermit thinking the guys didn't need him, but they weren't listening to his suggestions. He is the boss after all. Kind of ironic now when you think about it.

And the 2015 show I still argue that Kermit's character wasn't the problem..it was everyone. The script and stories were major problems to me. Piggy is my favorite character and I hated the way they wrote her in the first half.

Denise was actually a pretty cool character. She kind of reminds me of how Skeeter was portrayed in those Muppet Show comics from a few years back. I'd like to see them bring her back, but the problem is she'll probably be confused with Miss Piggy, like all the female pig characters. Annie Sue is Miss Piggy, Spamela Hamderson is Miss Piggy, Lydia the Tattoed Lady is Miss Piggy, etc, etc.
Eh, I wasn't that big of a fan of Denise. Now, Annie Sue, she really needs to come back in some form. They literally hyped up her return in MMW, but she never got to say a line.

Well, to be fair, Disney never actually said Annie Sue was coming back. We saw her in the background of one of the trailers, and Louise Gold was announced as one of the performers. The rest was filled in by fan speculation.

And well, I never really like Annie all that much. She fit in the season she was in as a foil to Miss Piggy, but I don't really see how she could still fit.

It's not that I didn't like Denise, but I wanted more from her than just being Kermit's girlfriend for 3 episodes. There could of been more from her than that.

I will give the writers credit that they didn't make Piggy jealous or mad at Denise for dating Kermit. They could of easily did that and I'm glad they got at least one thing right.

I can't really give you guys my thoughts on Denise, since I only saw the pilot, and two and a half episodes before giving up on the show. I liked her design, I thought she was cute, but she was kind of bland, from what I've seen. But since I didn't watch the entire series, I suppose I'm not at liberty to say my thoughts on a character, just by judging her from the episodes I did watch, eh?

I'm STILL waiting for that darn Thought of the Week video...
Yeah, me too.

It kinda hit me this morning just how much I'm lacking in enthusiasm for future Muppet projects. If Disney were to announce a new movie tomorrow, I would just yawn in response. I'd still go and see it and join in with the fan speculation, but the hype just wouldn't be there for me.

The most exciting Muppet-related thing happening this year unless you have tickets to the Bowl is that Phantom of the Opera book. Let's face it, the only interesting part about this year was finding out about last October. The year has been boring because of last October.

Until I'm proven wrong, and hopefully I will be soon, I can't be enthusiastic about the Muppets without Steve. Most of you will think I'm being stupid, but I'm simply being honest with myself and everyone here.

EDIT: That certainly doesn't mean that I'm going to stop supporting the franchise. I've made it quite clear on several occasions.

Well, I'm personally staying optimistic about this whole situation and I'm looking forward to hearing Matt's Kermit, even though it won't be the same as Jim or Steve's Kermit.
