Animal Farm coming in October

Courtesy of TNT
August 11, 1999

In October 1999, Turner Network Television and Hallmark Entertainment will unveil a revolutionary achievement in film-making. In partnership with Jim Henson's Creature Shop, we present an extraordinary live-action film version of one of the most important works of the 20th Century, George Orwell's Animal Farm.

Animal Farm tells the story of the animals of Manor Farm, who overthrow their human masters. Led by the pigs, the animals believe they can create a new society where all animals are equal. Before long, however, greed for wealth and power overwhelm the animals' leaders, and they become everything they had despised.

Combining the performances of live animal "actors" with state-of-the-art computronics, the TNT Original ANIMAL FARM is one of the most expensive and ambitious films ever created for television, and is destined to be one of the most important television events of the year.

Featuring the Voice Performances of:

Kelsey Grammer as Snowball, Ian Holm as Squealer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Mollie, Julia Ormond as Jesse, Pete Postlethwaite as Benjamin and Farmer Jones, Paul Scofield as Boxer, Patrick Stewart as Napoleon, and Peter Ustinov as Old Major.
