confusion reigns at muppet central!

MWoO was talking about IAVMMCM, aka "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie". Renee, I believe, is refering to AFV, aka America's Funniest Home Videos.

At least that's what I think just happened.

Yep. A Verry Merry Muppet Christmas was a special done by NBC in 2002. Scooter had a huge part in that. Certainly more than we've seen in years.

Oh. You're referring to Tom Bergeron who also hosted "Hollywood Squares."

ok ive had this on my mind and on my heart for so long and i never said beacuse i felt it wasnt nessecary.this isnt meant for everyone but only for certain people,i apologize if this shouldnt go here but its just seems to be the forum eveyone is going too so if it should be moved i ask to plase move it for me well here goes:

why does it seem that everytime a new muppet movie comes out we tear at it and find all the flaws instead of being happy that our childhood "friends" are back.
I have no problems with what you said but I look at it this way and I hope I'm wording this correctly. When you have a job you are supposed to do it to the best of your ability and The Henson Company has not worked up to it.
If most of these people have worked with this company for years (when Jim Henson was still alive) then they should be able to do better at their job than just doing mediocre work and thinking that just because it "Muppets" that people will be appreciative of it.
Everyone waits YEARS to see some new stuff and this is all they can come up with?! I'm sorry but if I go to work and made half to no effort at my job I will get complaints and I feel that we as the fans should complain to make someone do a better job and we can all be happy later. That's all

I voted disappotnting. I thought it was okay and there were a few good parts:
The Quentin Tarantino Scene: It came out of nowhwere but it was hilarious!
Seeing the Electric Mayhem: It was great seeing the band again....even if it was only a couple of non-speaking cameos.
"Bran New Brains": I cracked up at that! :stick_out_tongue:
Camilla!!!: Finally! I loved Gonzo's line there!
"Those are my nipples": Pepe's stare after that was golden!

and "How'd you turn yourself into such a sexy chicken?" (Man, we need a chicken smiley :concern: )

Character complaints:
Fozzie sounded exactly like Miss Piggy when they first saw him! What the Fudd!?
It was great seeing Scooter but he sounded too young.
There were too little Muppets used. I don't know, I'm used to seeing more characters, or a larger variety at least. They did better in AVMMC.

Overall, I mostly didn't like it because it was kind of corny and Ashanti can't act. It would've been better if they wouldn't gotten someone else (Raven could've worked...) to play Dorothy, had a longer amount of time and maybe a bigger budjet. There should've been more people/ Muppets in Emerald City, and the Poppy's place. It might've worked better without all of the modernizing, IMO that only worked in The Wiz (the Kansas parts still could have been in the present, though) In closing, it would've worked better as a theatrical film with better writing and a better Dorothy. Yay, for Scooter!

....And that's my two cents. :attitude:

Apprently the dirctor pushed for a theatrical release which actually makes much more sense than the special. Now if this had the budget of a full fledged movie I think a lot more people would be happy.

Just wondered if anyone else remembered this or not. The Muppets did a version of "The Wizard of Oz" before on the Muppet Show! I think it was for that or a special maybe but I saw a bit of it once on their 30th anniversary show.
Piggy was Dorothy
Scooter was the Scarecrow
Gonzo was the Tin Man
Fozzie was the Cowardly Lion
And Piggy's dog Foo Foo was Toto! Almost exactly like the movie!
