It clearly was.

Anyway, funny story. As soon as Abby's Cellphonewand started ringing, MY phone started rining. Creepy coincidence, huh.

Anyway, funny little episode, how they thought they turned Maria into a chicken. I thought they would have wound up turning the chicken into Maria... but I just love how they gave her Maria's hair cut. And then they turned it into a chicken wearing a sombrero by speaking spanish.

That always got me? how come Dora's this big Latina girl role model, and she speaks like a tourist visiting Mexico, when Rosita can speak it just so flawlessly, and she's vastly underrated here?

Anyway, I think I'm getting sick of the Celebrity word of the day. it's getting annoying. The Brian Williams one was funny, and I think Ellen really got into it... but the others are just how silly they can make adults who are in on the joke look. I wish they were celebrity and Muppet words of the day. And they reused the Frustraited from Ray Romano. That was classic. Classic.

The rhyme rap segment was just poor. I hated it and kept anxiously flipping through the channel looking for something else to watch for 2 minutes.

But a lot of great reused Muppet segments. (was that so hard? Less live action films, more muppet stuff) Let's lay an Egg, and Paperclips were a joy to see again.

The Twiddlebug segment was pretty good too. I really still am iffy about them replacing Muppet characters with CGI. I wish they used the Waldo controlls for it. But classic Twiddle goofery.

Pretty good episode.

You know this was the bvery first time that I ever saw that new :stick_out_tongue: &:frown: song and I must say that I was touched by it.
"Things I Remember" wasn't really new, I believe it was made in the 90s. It was one of the last songs Jeff Moss did before he died.

So, we got "Have You Ever Looked at a Paper Clip" today with Henson's Ernie. That's a good one, but in all honesty I was hoping for Bert's "six" song since that was the number of the day. Maybe we'll get that one at some point as well.

The Twiddlebug segment was pretty good too. I really still am iffy about them replacing Muppet characters with CGI. I wish they used the Waldo controlls for it. But classic Twiddle goofery.
Well, the puppet Twiddlebugs showed up in the "Lay an Egg" song. I guess that was a repeat from earlier years, but it's good to know that they still pop up every once in a while.

Anyway, I think I'm getting sick of the Celebrity word of the day. it's getting annoying. The Brian Williams one was funny, and I think Ellen really got into it... but the others are just how silly they can make adults who are in on the joke look.
Yeah. Maybe they should have the Muppets do that instead. It would give other characters besides Elmo and Abby some airtime. After all, Cookie Monster once ate the word 'food.' They should bring back that concept.

As for the street story, not too bad. It might have been better if Zoe and Rosita really had turned Maria into a chicken rather than just thinking they had done it. After all, Gina didn't believe that's what they did. Could you imagine their surprise if Abby had suceeded in turning her back? Besides, Maria had always been the victim of Mumford's tricks. They could have some similar story possibilities like that with Abby.

Just a few questions: I might have missed something so forgive me. Right now it's hot in my place and it's hard to hear when I have the fan on. Lol. Where did Maria say she went for real and why didn't she tell Gabi? She seemed to be worried as well. If someone could let me know, I'd appreciate that. Thanks.

Loved everything about today's epsidoe. The storyline was great. Me too thought they turn the Chicken into another Maria. I would of loved to have seen that.

Segements: They were all ok but with some of it being repeats. The Celebrity's are kind of getting boring. I loved it when they would act with the Muppets like Jamie Foxx did with Elmo. That's i've always enjoyed. Now it's just a celebrity just talking about words and stuff. Why not have a character there with you talking about the word. Now that would be fun.

Songs: Loved all the songs. Old and new. I was glad to see a Jim and Franks's Ernie and Bert today. I even liked seeing "Let's Lay An Egg" song.

This was another pretty neat episode. That's my two cents.

Maria said that she needed to go to the hard where store.

What I can't believes is after everything that the humans have seen, they still don't believe when anything unusual happens.

Yeah it's the old Snuffleupagus Syndrome. For whatever reason, these adults choose to accept certain strange things while ignoring others, lol.

Yeah, it's like there are limits to what they believe or won't. I mean The amazing Mumford already turned Maria into a chicken, so why is it all of a sudden impossible for her to have turned into a chicken then? Continuity for you...:stick_out_tongue:

Another classic Henson Ernie skit! (well, probably from the 1980s but it still counts)

Had some laundry to fold and decided to watch some. I thought they had turned Maria into a chicken till she laid an egg. It would have been better had they actually turned Maria into a chicken, I think, but this way was cool because kids could keep guessing, did they or not. And the clue of Mrs. Chicken coming soon made you wonder.

One thing that I liked especially is one sign that they can still make stories occasionally with 2-3 dimensions that can all be educational. Rosita wanted to play with the wand when they didn't know how it worked - that's the main part, along with the bit with Maria. But, the part with Zoe was also very edicational. They did a very good job of showing how a friend can say "no" to what another friend is doing, if it's something wrong, and yet still support that friend and try to help them.

In the deep mists of time in my brain, back when I was little, it seems like that was done more. Maybe it wasn't; maybe it was my mom and grandparents sitting with me and watching SS and talking about the many different aspects of a street scene or something else that got me to appreciate the various aspects of it.

But, it just seems that somehow, they could have - and maybe should have - made some mention of how Zoe said "no," got in a fight with Rosita over it, etc., and yet when push came to shove, she was still there to help her friend. Zoe's actions are what true friendship is all about; sometimes you do have to stand for what's right with your friends, and tell them in a loving way "no," to keep them from harm. And yet, they need that support when they do mess up.

Then again, it's so easy to make a lesson like that too...well, preachy. So, maybe I should just be glad they have a lesson they try to teach subtlly like that at all. If the 2-4YOs that will be watching don't get it in the way a 5-7 year old like myself would have 30 years ago, at least it's a subtlety that will plant seeds for later, and perhaps the younger kids watching will have caregivers who can sit down and talk about such lessons, too, as well as the main part of the storyline.

I really liked the newest episode. It had a lot of great segments. Will the rest of the season be this great?

I hope that Murray soon gets to interract with the other main characters soon, and not just stuck talking to real people. He should have some street stories, maybe even interract with Elmo, Abby, Oscar, and others.

I agree, I mean, I love his going out into "outer space" and talking with the "Silly creatures" on the street, since the only other muppet to blaze that trail was Uncle Matt from Fraggle Rock... but I wanna see him as a character. I wanna see him interact with other Muppet Monsters, see what he's like.
