BTW, how old was that "That's Not Homer" skit? It sounded like Jerry Nelson as the little boy, and they used an Anything Muppet for the rabbit, so I'm guessing the late 1980s to the mid 1990s.
Mid 90's... 93 is my closest estimate, since that's about the time the elephant appeared.

I really loved this episode that had lots of older segments. The Ernie and Bert one i've always loved ever since i saw it. Thanks again Jeff Moss for a lovely run down memory lane. Loved the "Time Classic Monster." I was so thinking what everyone else said. "Monster Pieces 2.0" Thanks Sesame Street for bring back something that i grew up with.

The storyline was neat. I loved the claymation with Elmo and his dinosaur.

The song "That's My Homer" brought back memories too. I've loved that song ever since hearing back in the 90's. Thanks again Sesame Street for airing that song.

That's my two cents for everything.

You mean the new Number of the Day segment? Are you sure? I know they started in season 33 with the Count at his organ? Then in either season 34 or 35, he was singing to his girlfriend. Then I believe in season 36 they started not airing that segment in every ep, but when they did they did a few Muppet/kid moments with the Count. But I don't recall seeing the tap dancing elephant concept anywhere. Maybe I'm wrong. I might have just missed it a few times. If they were recycled from earlier seasons, they probably haven't made too many of those.
Yes I'm sure. The Count counting sheep in bed until he get to the elephant is from season 35. The singing to the Countess is actual from season 36 as well as The six feet under and 24 segment. The muppet/Kid moments your referring to are actual from season 37 as well as the segments like the count golfing. and I believe 36 had the ones where the Count was trying to make movies, but I can't confirm that for sure because they might be from 35 as well as the sheep thing.

Okay. I guess they didn't make too many of those counting sheep segments then, because most of the season 35 ones I remember have the Count at his organ. I'll have to watch and see if they show any more of those.

You're right. There weren't many, but the only ones that come to mind are the Russian hat dance thing and the tap one that just aired.

You know this was the bvery first time that I ever saw that new :stick_out_tongue: &:frown: song and I must say that I was touched by it.

Love the Monster piece theater 2.0 and it was great to see Cookie in a more dignafied role once more.

Very cute using Claymation on Elmo and the Dinosaur and the ending of the show was kind of cute too.

Over all it was a great show and I can't wait for more.

I thought about that too. Elmo sure needs his head examined if he had thought the 'Snufflesaur' really was a dinosaur. I was thinking they'd go on with the story and show whether Elmo knew what was going on or not, but I guess the writers didn't think of that. Maybe Elmo will go home all disappointed that his 'pet' didn't go with him, but by the next episode he should be better. Considering how poorly the writers are with keeping continuity, everyone will probably forget the whole thing. Lol.
Maybe they're trying to teach kids one important aspect of tlevision that so few seem to get - things happen off screen  (You'd be shocked - or maybe you wouldn't - how few people understand thta in some TV sitcom message boards. What, they can't comprehend that we don't see 99%+ of a family's lives,a nd only a 1/3 of that is sleeping? 1/2 hours out of 168 in a week, with sometimes days between scenes.)
(End soapbox)

Actually, if Elmo didn't get it (and I think he did and was just happy Snuffy played a long) there's a *bigger* problem with the pet that nobody caught yet. Big Bird. What happens when he goes looking for Snuffy? Is he BB's "pet" or friend; I think he's just a friend, but I'm not sure. Either way, he's going to be concerned.

However, what I think happens offscreen is that Big Bird finds Snuffy, and helps Elmo by saying that it's actually *his* dinosaur. Elmo is disappointed, but learns that just because something follows you home doens't mean its yours to keep. Big Bird later says the dinosaur ran away, and Elmo doens't have to feel as bad.

Also, I did think of 2 other alternate endings that are funnier:
1. Snuffosaurus, int he middle of Elmo's World, saying, "That kid spends too much time with his crayon and his goldfish" and runs away.
2. Elmo's parents ranting, "I don't care if he followed you home, you can't keep a dinosaur int his house, young monster! Besides, you already have a pet, Dorothy!"

(Oscar's voice: Why does he always have to look on the bright side. Sheesh!)

This could be SW's vesion of "The Lady or the Tiger." LOL

It sounds like a great episode. A classic Muppet Song, the Twiddlebugs make a return appearance, the "6 Dogs on the Dock" song, "Bird on Me", and Cuca the parrot -- what couldn't you like about this show?

I still have the feeling that all the "Word on the Street" segments were shot in just one day or even two. Maybe when they started, the first thing they shot was Murray's "Hi! I'm Murray from Sesame Street, and I'm looking for... the Word on the Street!" Then they shot the title card, got out the list of words, and began doing them one at a time. Then they probably finished by evening. So maybe the last few Word on the Street skits will appear to be done during dusk or something like that.
