This will be a great way to reintroduce the idea of adoption. This time will be a little different because Gina will be adopting a baby of a completely different race/ethnicity and on top of that raising it as a single mother. Smart idea, Sesame Workshop. I commend you once again.

Also, I wonder why Miles' adoption has not ever been mentioned much anymore. It's not that big a deal I guess but it's still a part of the history of Sesame Street. It would be interesting for them to have an episode that discusses Miles and the fact that he is adopted. Maybe now that he is older he has wondered or been curious as to who his biological parents are/were. I mean, that is something that many adopted children go through. Maybe even that would be too touchy for Sesame Street but maybe not. It would atleast be neat to have reference to Miles' adoption in the episode with Gina.

It's a nice idea, there are a lot of, unfortunately, unwanted children in the world.
I know, but it's unfortunatly or not you can't have all of them.

But you are right Bear, it great to have tha opened up again. I remeber reading about Rosco Orman or Caroll or sombody like that dicussing about Gordan and Susan having a child on the show, the the producers shot down the Idea. A number of years later, Caroll told him why don't you have youe son on the show, and he told him that didin't go for that to much, so Carol sugested why don't you ask them if you could adopt a baby, and he found that an interesting Idea, and the produces were Intriged by the idea on explaing about adoption on the show. and the responce was overwelming, and for one solid week in history, perent's could tell their child that they were adopted and that meant that they were special.

And Dr. Loretta Long explaind about it to in an interview, too.

But you'r right though Bear, this certantly does make things a litle more interesting this time.

I doubt theyr'e gonna spread the episodes out this year like they did in Season 36. At the end of this week, they will have aired 19 episodes already, and they'll be airing some new episodes next week as well. They do spread the episodes out a little this year, putting in a few Season 35 episodes each week, but theyr'e not spreading them out as much as they did last Season.

Wow, Gina adopting a baby. I remember when Gina first came to Sesame Street. ::sniff:: They grow up so fast!
Wow! It's been so long since I've seen a new ep, I forgot about that. I'll have to check my local listings. I've checked the website for channel 44 and they say that the new eps will begin on October 2nd. Unless they do a few new ones before that. I've noticed some episodes listed for certain dates didn't have descriptions so I don't know what those will be. Then there was one about Oscar having a grouch picnic that's supposed to air before October. That sounds like a new one. Now, by the time the new eps start, I don't know if they'll start over from the beginning of the season and I'll have to wait longer to see episodes I haven't seen or if they'll just pick up from where they left off. We'll just have to wait and see. I know I'm getting a bit too much off the original topic, but I feel bad that I'm getting so far behind. Well, I guess I'll shut up now. Lol.

Missed Street opening today

Daughter watching videotape, I turned it off a little late due to interest in it myself  came in on What is the Game today (One of These Things). Know show was from this season, but don't know if it's new or not. Somebody please tell me. Calling all fans, Calling all fans, somebody missed the opening, somebody missed the opening.

Yep... Yesterday's episode was a new one, 4126, Rocco's Birthday.
Also got 4127 today, the episode where Oscar gets a grouch dog that's not all that grouchy.

Good episode, filled with lots of animal sketches and songs. Thoughts to come later.
Sponsors for 4127 were S and 5.

Oscar's new dog

Yay Sesame Street!!
- for having Grungetta on the show! It's great to see her again.
- for giving us a nice song parody with "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Fur."
- for giving us another nice song sung by Luis. He doesn't sing as much as he ought to. (I don't know if this skit--with Luis telling Zoe and Elmo how to say "My name is..." in Spanish--was new or not, but it was new to me.)

Boo Sesame Street!!
- for ignoring the existence of Preposterous Puppy, Oscar's old dog. Yes, I know, kids watching now won't remember Preposterous, but it still seems a shame to ignore continuity. Would it have been so much trouble to have a flashback, followed by an off-hand comment from Oscar like, "Yeah, he ran away to join a flea circus. . ." or something? Yeah, yeah, not enough time for that. Gotta give Elmo his twenty-minute block. >grumble grumble<
- for wasting an opportunity to tie Trash Gordon in to the rest of the show. The street scene focuses on Oscar and his new dog; when Oscar shows up at the end of the hour I expect to see the dog too. Some Trash Gordons have been new this season, so why not have a new one here, with Cranky the dog licking Oscar's head after he reads the story? But no, just a repeat (I think) of some old Trash Gordon, and we're left seeing how completely the different parts of Sesame Street are divorced from one another.
