Kermit's Swamp Years - Did Anyone Like It?

KSY is one of the very few muppet productions I have yet to see, largely because the reviews have been almost universally bad. Did anyone enjoy it? That Joe the Armadillo seemed cool. What did you like if you did like it?

It was... okay.

I've said this before, if you go into it not expecting too much from it, you'd probably enjoy it okay. But, if you're expecting it to be as good as The Muppet Movie, don't see it. you'll be highly dissapointed. I went into not expecting anything, so I liked it. But, the special features of the DVD are deffenitely the best part.

I liked it alot. It's that simple. It's cute, silly, and fun. As far as Muppet films go, no it isn't the best they've ever done. I don't think that was the plan. But as far as family films go, it was the best to be released last year overall.

Better than most of the garbage that's out there, I'd rather my little cousin be watching this than Power Rangers or those weird CG things on the Disney Channel. Better than Muppet Babies, not as good as any other Muppet produciton.

the first 1/3 of it is really great!!! Funny. well-defined characters. beautiful production. Smooth, keeps moving. Very entertaining. I loved it!!!

The second 1/3 of it (following the pet) shop is a little forced but still pretty good. As has been said in other discussions on this topic "the I believe in you" moments start to become a little wearing on the nerves right about here. but it's till pretty good/ As jamie said. better than most other stuff tha's out there.

the last 1/3 of it....Oh the pain!!!! the agony!!!! What were they thinking!!?!?!?! It's completly non-sensical, forced, stupid, irritating, poorly concevied , poorly acted and overall just plain bad.

Bottom line, when it's justthe puppets you're watching it's great. and the first part of it I really DID just love!!!!!!! But once they get out of the swamp, it slowly starts to spoil so by the end it's just out of control and so the ending is a major disappointment that just left a fowl fowl taste in my mouth. It's worth a rental if nothing else.

I liked it, but there were several parts I didn't agree with it being in the film.

The Jim Henson as a young boy scene
I think Statler and Waldorf were there...WAY outta their element
There was 2 other things (I think) that threw off the chronology of the Muppet's history.

I still haven't seen it yet. I don't know if I'll like it or not, since I do have very odd tastes. I mean, I liked MFS, and I like weird movies (mostly with Leslie Neilson...I dunno why)

my guess, rent it. If you buy it and you don't like it, you're stuck with it. However, if you rent it and you like it, then buy it. If you rent it, and you don't like it, you have nothing to worry about. Sorry if I couldn't be much help.

And of course Fozzie would object to his two arch nemisis being in this movie. :boo:

just kiddin.....:stick_out_tongue:

I'm pretty sure that they were saying that they were in the movie so they didn't have to be in the audience. That seems like something they would say. Also, it meens that they didn't have to be there when it "really" happened. Chronilogicly, what annoyed me was the clothes. It did not seem like the late sixties/ early seventies like it should have been. :boo:
