Mainly because if they order too many episodes of something they'd assume is a hit, they'd order too many episodes and then have to burn them all off in Summer or something.\

Meanwhile, I noticed that some cartoons now don't have massively long breaks during the season, and some of those have multiple seasons in a single year. Meanwhile, it's taking Disney forever to get through the first season of Gravity Falls. I hope that doesn't hurt the show's popularity.

At least it's getting a 2nd season, and gets decent ratings (an average of 3 million viewers) for a kids show.

In the Hey Arnold episode "False Alarm", Arnold manages to prove that Eugene couldn't have pulled down the fire alarm because of the Wacky Land (or was it Wanky Land? Can't remember, for the rest of this post I'll just call it Wacky Land) pencil, since he was banned from Wacky Land for accidentally ruining a parade at the theme park. Arnold states that it's not likely he'd have a pencil from the place because he hadn't been there since.

But nobody thought of the possibility that maybe he got a Wacky Land pencil before he got banned. Or maybe somebody gave him the pencil. In fact the person who framed Eugene had let him borrow the pencil (Eugene's chewing on it being what led to him being framed).

Also, what's the deal with Eugene having to wear glasses once a week in that episode? It's noted in the episode that he has to wear glasses once a week, and that's the only episode where he's shown wearing glasses. Of course viewers would probably be confused by him wearing glasses occasionally (I was confused when I first saw some Peanuts strips from the early 1960s where Linus wore glasses), and I figure they'd have to constantly find ways to mention why he's wearing glasses in each episode where he does. But still, it's odd that this happened. But I saw it pointed out on one Hey Arnold web page that he couldn't have done it since he was seen without his glasses when he was caught (this isn't brought up in the episode, and I don't know if that was an intentional clue).

So in The Wizard of Oz, why does the Witch melt when splashed by water? Does any version of the story give an explanation? The movie doesn't even provide any foreshadowing (that I know of).

I've been thinking some things about the WB short Don't Ax Me. For those unfamiliar with the short (as it doesn't seem to be one of the more popular shorts.... It's not politically incorrect, but I didn't see it on television often, though it was released on VHS once or twice), it involves Elmer Fudd attempting to chop Daffy Duck so he and his wife (in her only appearance) can serve roast duck to a dinner guest, and it's shown that Elmer and his dog (who encouraged Elmer's wife to decide to have roast duck) had been annoyed by Daffy for quite awhile, so Elmer's more than happy to have roast duck.

First of all, the dog has to get Elmer's wife to decide to serve roast duck. She tells Elmer, and he's happy with the opportunity. But why did Elmer need to wait for his wife to tell him to kill a duck and have roast duck? Couldn't Elmer have just decided to chop him much sooner, or even decided to have roast duck, or does Elmer have no say in what they eat when?

Also, and I'm spoiling the ending here, at the very end, Daffy is only saved by the fact that the dinner guest is a vegetarian, which they didn't anticipate. Uh, if you're a vegetarian and are eating at somebody's house for dinner, shouldn't you make sure your hosts know that you're a vegetatian? I mean, that's a pretty big detail to leave out. I wonder what they ended up having after that.

What is the deal with my dog? A couple of weeks ago, she ate a large chunk out of a lemon cake my fam was taking to a picnic, and then ate my mother's breakfast sandwich. And yesterday, she knocked my cooling rack of chocolate chip cookies off of the table to eat. That deranged junk-food klepto....

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't it seem like a number of would-be/wannabe cartoonists out there basically just rip off John K? Mostly in drawing style, but in some cases, the content as well.

What's the deal with the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom? They all seem to be very critical of the Sonic games (even more than non-fans) and keep causing flamewars about everything. Also, many people who say that the Sonic franchise is terrible constantly post in the official Sonic forum!

Maybe they're just fans of the old school, Genesis-era games and refuse to accept the current games as new (then again, I've never read those forums). I feel the old ones are the best but I still enjoy many of the more recent games (Sonic Colors, Sonic Generation).
