After being active on Reddit for not even a year, I officially deleted my account. For good.

Honestly, it’s the most toxic and condescending platform that makes Twitter look like p*ssy sh*t. I had my fair stay but I look forward to never coming back ever again.

I can't say I blame you for doing that. I've only lurked on Reddit a few times, but I never liked the vibe I got from it. In general, I prefer to stay away from social media. Aside from Muppet Central and YouTube, the only other websites I'm active on are Archive of Our Own and FanFiction.net (under the username FanFictionReader02), mostly just to read and comment on Harry Potter fanfiction, which I really enjoy.

I like to observe Reddit, but I try not to comment much. They do tend to be snarky and needlessly rude. It does depend on the subreddit though.
The thing is even the most fun, chillest subreddits unfortunately have their occasional bad apples pop up every now and then, it’s annoying.

Personally though, the WORST subreddit I participated in was EASILY unpopular opinion. I NEVER had a good experience participating there. Things I posted were quick to be deleted and the people there just come off incredibly snippy and spiteful. There was one day a post of mine was deleted, I respectfully asked the mods about why it was deleted cause I felt it was a bit uncalled for, and yeah, they were basically condescending the entire time and told me everything I needed to know about how that sub was run.

now that's just wild, they make an unpopular opinion subreddit and the moment you post one they hate it so much that it gets deleted? literally what's the point of having the subreddit in the first place then lol what

Unfortunately just interacting with them alone basically gave me a full idea of just how much they pat themselves on the back in real life with how they run their sub. They just enjoy abusing their power and it absolutely shows.

After three years of living in my current place and absolutely hating it now as time went on, I am seriously just looking forward to my lease expiring. I don’t think I can honestly take another year of this place anymore.

Just the karma system alone is toxic, and there's people who've basically admitted to being sheep; just downvoting something literally without even reading it just cause other people are.
