Well, let's see. I think Rankin & Bass definately need to be put in a catagory by themselves here, so let me tackle that first.
My favorite is, without a doubt, Santa Clause Is Coming to Town, closely followed by The Year Without a Santa Clause. The first Santa Clause mentioned was the first one of these cartoons I ever saw, so whether it truly is or not, in my mind I think of it as the first one ever made. Can anyone set me straight on that?
 Anyway, I love watching the ABC Family marithon every year while I decorate the tree.

Apart from that, my mustsee every year is the Muppet Christmas Caroll, and although it isn't really my favorite, I usually end up watching A Christmas Story at least once.
Ones that I like to see when I can are:

It's a Wonderful Life
Myracle, (you can't compete with the original classic, but I like both versions.)
And, because most people on this thread have named at least one unknown/underappreciated special/movie, lol, mine is:
The Second Day of Christmas, (Lifetime movie)

All I have to say is thank God for ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas! Lol, I don't know what I'd do if all these Christmas specials weren't playing somewhere this season. Though, I've been heart broken the past couple of years to see they always cut that one song from "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Not to mention this one from "Rudolph's Shiny New Year":

Oh, I almost forgot... there's a Lifetime movie (yes, I know, let's not go into that) with Mark Ruffalo that they show every year at Christmastime where he's like this mall security guard who has a pick-pocket, and her orphaned niece forced to spend Christmas with him before some official people take the niece away and put her in a foster home. It's a really sweet movie.

My top ten favorite TV specials are...

1. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
2. Frosty the Snowman
3. Santa Claus is Coming to Town
4. Muppet Family Christmas
5. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
6. The Year Without a Santa Claus
7. Jack Frost
8. Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
9. Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy
10. VeggieTales, The Star of Christmas

There was also this Animaniacs Christmas episode where the Warners were dressed as shepherds and they came to the manger where they met Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. And they sang the song of the Little Drummer Boy. That was a really beautiful heartwarming episode.
