Oh, yeah. I was surprised when Long John Silver used the "d" and "h" words in his speech, but I guess I shouldn't have been for two reasons...

A. He's not a Muppet.
B. When he said h***, he was referring to the place. Also, he didn't really say da**, he said damnation, which really isn't a swear word.

wrong speech

I was talking about the speech at the end of the movie when he treatens Jim Hawkins. He says "Oh, h--l Jim" when he lowers his gun. Read the captions.

Sorry. The copy I have was taped off of ABC and they don't show what happens during the end credits. I also remember reading something about some kind of rock-character telling a joke to Long John during the credits.

still not the right scene

You should still be able to see the scene I am talking about. It is near the end but a little before the credits, just before Kermit comes up with Sam and Sam mentions one of the lifeboats is definatly "unsafe".

Though I have to say that H*ll is only a swear in the context of

GO to H***

What the H*** are you doing? Who the H*** do I know?

Remember on the Simpsons when Bart says he learned about H*** and he gets reprimanded and says

"I sure as h*** can't talk about h*** if I can't say the word h***!"

Well given Im not into anything biblical, theological, or canine related...I guess all my real life uses would be the potty mouth kind.

But folks, this is trite and silly...combing over 50 years of material looking for G rated swears? C'mon...

In real life, who here doesnt say the f, s, and other words like a bazillion times a day? Everyone swears...a LOT...daily, and I aint talking the aforementioned G swears. Get out of your puritanical
Ivory tower and wake up...everyone from the president to a homless man on the street, to soccer moms acorss the nation are swearing up a storm.

Perhaps we can all have one collective
#@(#$%(#$)%^(#)$^( !!!!

...now didnt that feel better?

Yeah, we wouldn't want people calling other people horrible names like wisea$$ willy nilly, right?
