Do you like Wayne & Wanda? Do you not like 'em? Why, what's up?

I am curious to see opinons on 'em---and I already know we'll have a big ol' "flippers down" from Quinn himself ("himself"---makes ya feel important, no? ).

So...

Wayne.

Wanda.

Talk amongst yerselves.

I think they were fantastic, especially with Sam's introduction. But I have to say they stopped using them on the right time.

Well, using them together anyway. Wayne still made appearances now and then, like in the Muppet Melodramas where he played the hero, Piggy was the damsel in distress and Uncle Deadly was the villain.

I'd say Wayne worked pretty well on his own I don't know if this was because Richard was his performer or not, but he seemed to be more of a three-dimensional character than Wanda did.

Yes, of course, but I thought this thread was about the duo Wayne and Wanda.
About Wayne: Indeed a good character, the melodrama's were very funny, and his song "Dogwalk" is a classic.

He also sang the opening lines in The Bells are Ringing in the episode guest starring Deborah Harry.

"What a beautiful day
For a wedding in May!
See the people all stare
At the lovable pair!
She's a vision of joy,
He's the luckiest boy.
In their Wedding aray,
Hear them smilingly say..."

Welp, I like 'em as their act, "Wayne & Wanda", cause I remember bein' a li'l pup (thank you Quinn) and just lovin' how their songs always ended in unplanned catastrophe---heehee!

And yes, their moments on stage did give Sam a lotta good funny intro material!

But now Quinn's gonna come along and render all this "irrelevant". :sympathy:

I'm not a big W&W fan honestly. I think its probably due to their short-lived duets (which so far is all I have seen them in). I like characters that I can know completely to some extent, and due to their lack of exposure, all I got was two generic characters. No depth.

Something else that contributes to my lack of W&W fandom is that they are Anything Muppets singing songs with VERY little substance. I mean, I have Mahna Mahna a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but still I like him more. That is because he is vibrant and his song has life too it, and also because he is a cool looking Muppet. Wayne and Wanda are just a couple of generic puppet molds with bland, lifeless songs. I just can't feel for that.

I'm not picking fights with W&W fans, because really I don't hate them or anything. I just can't get into them the way I get into other characters. Sorry By.

I agree.

However, I am biased in this matter, because I love all of Richard's characters...

No no, I'm not a huge fan, I just like their acts cause W&W are a novelty. You know the song's gonna end in disaster, you just don't know when or how, lol.

And you can't say "song with VERY little substance/bland, lifeless songs", cause they sing classic standards!

Don't let Sam hear you say this, lol...
