Oh, boy....

I can't believe it'll come out in Fall; not as long as I thought.
Maybe it's because of trying to put the complete Muppet Valentine Special on the DVD, and/or make all the episodes complete..
But I think a few episodes should be cut, and I'm serious. You've got to believe me, my friends, OK?

Why are you so keen for Disney to make cuts? I can understand if there are some songs or sketches that you don't like, but that's no reason the rest of us shouldn't get to see them.

I agree with anathema. I do believe it's possible that some cuts may well have to be made for music licensing reasons, but never the less I will be immensely delighted if the episodes are in fact all complete and unedited.

Gee, I never thought I'd see someone who WANTS stuff to be cut. If you dont like a particular sketch THAT much, just fast foward through that part.

Oh, OK.
Let's hope the 2nd Season Episodes are all complete.
After all, the 1st Season of TMS is a whole lot different than the rest of the Seasons, and here's what was in the Season 1:

*Fozzie's fur was darker
*Gonzo's eyes were only sad
*Floyd's eyes couldn't blink
*Janice's voice is only different than what we know today
*The Newsman's voice was sometimes lower and he sometimes didn't wear his glasses
*The 1st Season DVD didn't include the 2nd Season theme
*Some scenes had to be cut
*Zoot spoke more
*More At The Dance sketches
*No Beaker
*No Pigs in Space
*Kermit had less-energetic introductions
*Only 4 Kermit's beginning lines featured the word "Very"
*Very less running gags on the Newflash sketches
*In Veterinarian's Hospital, Dr. Bob was reffered to by the Announcer as an "Othipetic Sergeon", instead of a "Quack".
*Miss Piggy sometimes had a different voice than Oz's voice for Piggy
etc. etc.

I guess I want the 2nd Season episodes complete, after all.

YOU SHOULD! It's kinda weird someone wants it cut... why did you want it too be? :smirk:

No reason why it should: it's nothing to do with Season One. The theme and opening titles changed for every season.

*Some scenes had to be cut
*Zoot spoke more
*More At The Dance sketches
*No Beaker

*Kermit had less-energetic introductions

And your point is? The show evolved, as all long-running shows do. Characters were dropped; new characters were introduced. Sketches were dropped, new ones took their place. Each season differed somewhat from the previous one(s); the changes between One and Two are the most noticeable for various reasons, but that's simply the nature of TV production.

There is no reason to suppose that any of the Season Two shows will be cut in the forthcoming release; there is no reason to suppose that they won't, either. Anything that did or did not happen during production of the Season One box has no bearing on what will or will not happen during production of future sets. With one exception, all cuts in the S1 box were due to music clearance issues: either the rights were outside Disney's budget, or they were unavailable entirely. This does not mean that similar issues will arise with the music for S2, or that the costs of clearing the music will be in any way related to the costs of clearing S1.

Speculation on what the boxset might or might not include is rather futile at the moment  About the only thing one could say with any certainty is that the original endings of the shows are unlikely to be included, as they were excised from the master tapes in the 80s.

Regarding your proposed website, there are a number of reasons why it's unlikely to happen:
- cost: the amount of webspace and bandwidth required to host such a site does not come cheap.
- time: while it's only a few minutes' worth of material, someone would have to spend time and effort digitising the tapes, preparing video clips in a format suitable for downloading or streaming, and then setting up a site to host them.
- legality: in most jurisidictions, what you're proposing is illegal without permission from the rights holders concerned. Starting a site like this is just inviting trouble.

Ooh! There must be a site where it has the video clips of the Edited Songs & Sketches from The Muppet Show!
Check YouTube.com. I know I saw a few of the deleted scenes from the Season 1 DVD set posted there.
