bob hope & beverly sills

oh, I forgot to list the Bob Hope and beverly Sills episodes, so that's 60 episodes that I know were shown on Nickleodeon. I guess there must have been five more that I don't know aired on Nickleodeon.

Out of the episodes that I mentioned, the only one that i haven't seen is the Tony Randall episode. There was a single week where during the credits an announcer would actually mention who the guest would be on the next night, and I somehow missed that episode. The episodes that were on that week were the Shirly bassey, senor wenches, paul simon, mellissa manchester and tony randall episodes.

Well, Nickeldeon aired the show on Fridays and called it, "Friday Night Muppets!" Throughout the year, they would air the Muppet Show and then show many of their specials, thus where I saw for the first time, "MUppet Family Christmas" in full format! I've got it taped. I think they even aired Muppets Go Hollywood...I'm thinking they did. I grew up watching Nick when the Muppets were on. I think the last one they aired, cuz I remember watching it was probably the Milton Berle episode. Because Nick was saying that was it for now...though the Muppets never returned to Nickeldeon. ALthough, Nick did air THe Muppet Babies in the mornings...

Actually, you are only half-correct. Nickleodeon aired a few muppet specials on Sunday nights in november and december 1992 called "Sunday Night Muppets". Muppet Specials were also occasionally shown as part of Nickleodeons "special delivery" block on the weekends, and Nickelodeon showed the specials a few other times (including an afternoon-long marathon of muppet specials and episodes of muppet babies on memorial day of 1993) before having a two-hour block of Muppet specials on saturdays called Muppet Matinee. In november and december 1993 Nickleodeon aired friaday Night Muppets and showed the exact same specials (in the exact same order) as Sunday Night Muppets.

The specials that were broadcast as part of Sunday/ Friday night muppets were: (in order) The frog prince, the muppets go to the movies, the muppet musicians of bremen, the secrets of the muppets, the christmas toy, a mupper family christmas, and emmit otters jug-band christmas. All of those non-christmas specials plus hey Cinderella were shown during the memorial day marathon (every other hour was two episodes of Muppet babies).

A Muppet Family Christmas was not completely uncut. Scenes that were cut included a brief scene where the turkey first met camillia (shown before Scooter tells Kermit that he found a film of the muppets first christmas together), the scene where the muppets react to fozzie and elmo putting up the christmas tree (before fozzie tells everybody that his mother has an announcement), and part of the dialog was heard over a shot of the christmas tree (when Fozzie and his mom read through a check-list of where everybody will sleep, a shot of the fireplace was shown over some of the dialog when originally we saw fozzie and his mom reading through the list), and the scene where fozzies mom puts up a stocking that has been cut since the original broadcast of the special were all cut.

Nickleodeon first started showing episodes of The Muppet Show in April 1994, which was shown at 7:30 p.m. on weeknights and I think 11;30 on weekdays (it was later moved to 10:30.... by the way, this is pacific time). By september or october 1994 the night showing was dropped and it remained on Nick jr. (in a special hour block called "Jim Hensons Muppet Hour", with Muppet babies as part of the first hour) untill 1995.

I remember seeing the John Denver episode and forgot about that one. For some reason I figured that the Vincent Price episode was shown but never saw it on Nickelodeon.

Other muppet specials that were shown on Nickleodeon (besides the ones mentioned) are Tale Of The Bunny Picnic, The fantastic Miss Piggy Show, The Muppet Valentine Show (which I beleive was first shown on Nickleodeon in 1993 as part of Nickleodeons valentines day mushfest), The Muppets: A Celebration of Thirty Years, and the Jim Henson Hour specials Miss Piggys Hollywood, Lighthouse Island, Monster Maker, and Living With Dinosaurs (the only muppet special shown on Nick that I haven't seen). i don't think Nickleodeon ever showed The Muppets Go Hollywood, and I am not sure why. Out of the other muppet specials that were fully owned by The Jim henson Company at the time (in other words, what henson had the full distribution rights to), Nickelodeon never showed tales Of The Tinkerdee (probably becasue it was in black and white), Puppetman (I don't know why), The Muppets On Puppets (possibly because it was in black and white), The Muppet Show: Sex And Violence (the only reason i can think of is because of the title), land of Tinkerdee (possibly because it was lost and not known, at least not to us hardcore fans, untill recently), or the Jim Henson Hour specials Dog City and Song Of The Cloudforrest.

the other specials that weren't shown were probably not shown on Nickelodeon becasue other companies had the full distribution rights. I think John Denvers family owns both John Denver And The Muppets specials (although Columbia was able to get the rights to release Rocky Mountain Holiday on video recently), the company that owns the rights to The Ed Sullivan Show owns The great santa Clause switch, and Disney owns The Muppets At Walt Disney World and The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson.

So it looks like the only episodes that Nickleodeon aired that I haven't seen are the ones with Tony Randall and Cleo Lane. I have also only seen the first half of the Liberache epsiode and the last half of the Victor Borge episode, and I have never seen the beginning of the Lynne Redgrave episode.

I have seen the avery schriver episode, but i guess I didn't list that. Oddly enough, 65 episodes have been listed. Could this mean that there were actually 66 episodes?

The Muppet Show's Cleo Laine episode never reaired on Nickelodeon.
Are you sure? I remember seeing the Limbo number in an episode that aired on Nick followed by the backstage scene when Fozzie "unscrunches" Kermit.
