Yeah Richard didn't use quite the same singing voice in this that he'd used in his number with Fozzie, but it is the Snowman. Guess he wanted it to sound slightly more classy for the medley.

And yes, I'd love a plushie Junior for that matter!

Hi all!


First of all, big congradulations to both Erin and Sarah! Erin, good luck with the new job and apartment, and Sarah, good luck with the house, and the wedding plans! Wow, a lot is happening lately!
Thanksgiving was alright. My great aunt was up from Delaware, and we ate at my aunt's house.
Right now, I'm attempting to write this while sitting with a riggling chiwawa on my lap. We're taking care of him for the week for a friend of my mom's while she's in Puerto Rico. There's a picture of me with him on my Livejournal.
Oh, by the way, I have a Livejournal, lol!

Hi, Kate - glad to hear Thanksgiving went well for you.

Hmm, typing with a wriggling chihuahua on your lap...that's got to be a tad awkward. Our dog Sonja's also fond of climbing up on people's laps...but she's a 60-pound German shorthaired pointer.

Back to Richard and the two Placidos - I think it's a safe bet that Richard really wanted to put his best foot forward when Placido (Domingo) appeared on the show, considering his love for opera. We've all heard about how Richard could deliver a knockout performance at the drop of a hat, but I wonder if he had a few pre-performance jitters that time?

Back to Richard and the two Placidos - I think it's a safe bet that Richard really wanted to put his best foot forward when Placido (Domingo) appeared on the show, considering his love for opera. We all hear stories about how Richard was really laid-back and easy-going around everyone, but I wonder if Richard had a few butterflies the night before?

My puppy surprised me the other day--carrying the entire Yellow Pages up the stairs! Lol he's adorable. I couldn't help thinking of, "It's a long hard climb, but I'm gonna get there!" Lol

But about the two Placidos, that could be, MN. I mean usually everyone was looking up to him for being such a natural and talented performer, and rightfully so. But suddenly he might be scrutinized by a top Opera singer for daring to be his parody, hehe.

I mean we always hope our heroes will be flattered when we imitate them or are inspired by them, but we don't really know. Perhaps Richard was trying to turn that around a bit when he (according to Mr. Domingo) had Placido Flamingo go around complaining about the "imposter", lol. Obviously it worked because Placido Domingo seemed to remember it, and Richard, fondly in later stories. : D

I love that Placido Domingo told that "imposter" story in an interview and how the whole audience laughed. But I felt slightly sad that the audience loved the story but didn't get to know the person behind it. ::sniff::

Yeah, that's too bad...oh, well, we Muppet freaks know better, don't we?

But it is true about Placido Domingo having very fond memories of Richard and of Placido Flamingo. After all, Jane told that story about how she encountered Placido near Lincoln Center one day, and how Placido went on and on about what a wonderful person Richard was. Up in heaven, I'll bet Richard was smiling.

We remember those who have died, and the friends and loved ones they left behind. We remember those who were loved and who have someone to cherish their memories, and we remember those who were forgotten or scorned in this life.

The Empire State Building's all lit up in red tonight; I can sort of see it on the horizon from my window.

And the children in both America and Africa who are living with it. Not that I loved Obama (or McCain heh), but I do hope we get universal healthcare at some point. And especially for Africa, which is so far behind in education and treatment.

True...treatment's come a long way since the 1980s, and people are much more enlightened about AIDS than they were years ago, thank goodness, but for a lot of people with AIDS today, it's really, really hard. Not everyone has access to AZT and all the other drugs, and unfortunately, a lot of people still believe in all the myths and stigmas. So we've got a long way to go.

And it's really heart-wrenching to realize that in Africa, whole generations of kids are growing up without their parents because of AIDS.
