I just listened to it on the site's popup player, myself.

Nice reading, heralde, very nice. And it harkens back to how all the ordinary people who do great things for the world usually don't get as much attention as people who are self-centered, egotistical (and at the far end of the spectrum) ruthless and bloodthirsty.

Unfortunately, it's gotten so that you have to be a complete jerk in order to get people's attention, it seems.

Now, back to more pleasant things: the episode is certainly worth a listen, Marty - very interesting and heartfelt. As Steve said, after you listen, you'll know Richard a lot more.

Hi Marty. Marianne's post above is mostly correct. The simplest way is to go to www.muppetcast.com and click on the icon to download the current episode, the Richard Hunt tribute is #41. Or you can sign up to its simultaneous feed at the iTunes shop. Now, if you listen to the episodes at the website, the curren episode will only remain there until the next one gets posted (and episodes get posted at the rate of a new one per week usually on Sundays). But you can always go to the Archives section and click on the month that contains the particular episode you want, read a few summary blurbs to help you find the episode you want. And as a quick little nod... Luke had suggested Steve convert all his shows to CD format, not sure if he'll end up doing it though.

I liked your post! Hehe, I didn't think it was gigantic... important, but certainly not gigantic. It's very cool that you suggested the Gladys clip. That was fun to hear! And it was actually very fun how Steve incorporated all the clips into the show. It was so nice to hear Richard's voice and his songs as we were learning more about him.

Aww, thanks for saying my post was important, hehe. You know I initially thought I'd skip over most of the songs in the podcast because I'd heard them so many times. But when they got to Six String Orchestra, I just had to tune in and even found myself singing along, lol. I need to rent that episode again now!

I do keep thinking of the part where the woman wrote to Jane "your son saved my life." I mean a what a thing to have someone say about you! That and "my dog misses your son." I mean, if you can be told either or both of those things in life, it's a good sign, hehe.

Hey everyone! I mentioned it on another thread too, but I thought, since so much discussion popped up around Richard's tribute this week, I've decided that I will be making this episode available on CD, along with all past episodes as well. I'm still working out the system by which I'll actually do this, but know that, if you want this episode on CD, that is absolutely an option.

I'm just wrapping up listening to the podcast, but I just couldn't wait any longer to comment.

Long story short (because I'm just not as eloquent as the rest of you), I loved it. I really felt like I received an education not just in Richard the performer but Richard the person. I loved learning about his love of opera, and I know he must have had a ball when Beverly Sills guest starred on TMS. And finding out about Frank visiting him every day before he died...I don't think anything disproves the belief that Frank has betrayed the Muppets more than that.

And the interview with Jane was just wonderful; I can easily see where Richard got a lot of his personality. One of my favorite stories was the one about Venice, and I'm so glad that that wish of his was finally fulfilled. I've no doubt that Richard and his special someone are reunited in heaven.

(and no, Richard, you can't go anywhere without your parents showing up. It's a universal constant)

Steve, I just want to thank you for this. It was obviously a labor of love and it paid off wonderfully. I almost feel like I've actually met him, and I'm definitely the better for it. If I can be even a third as gentle and generous in my life as he was, I'll be happy.

And I miss him even more, too.

Wow - if that were available on CD, that'd be really (or rully) sweet.

And the man who took Richard's ashes off to Venice and scattered them turned out to be a published poet - and that letter he sent to Jane was...it was amazing.

I also liked that one story that David told, about the Muppets taking part in a big benefit in Chicago, the one that was being taped for PBS. Richard and David are behind a puppet wall, waiting to perform Placido Flamingo, and then there's a technical problem which takes a long time to fix...and seeing as the audience is getting restless, Richard stands up, walks out from behind the wall and starts doing stand-up...which of course has the audience howling with laughter.

David: How...how did you do that?
Richard: Do what? I was holding back!

If that was holding back, I can only wonder what Richard in full-force would have been like!

Jane just called again and said even she teared up in several places during Richard's tribute. She also said "My gosh, I sound like an old lady!", to which Arthur replied "You are an old lady!". Lol, what a gal!
