Yeah another great thing about this thread, we're allowed to go off topic (and often do!)

Yeah, let's face it, the RHLC's probably created enough muffins to stock a bakery or a tea room. (not to mention the occasional pie fight...)

And it's true; even if the Muppet performers don't physically resemble their characters, it's not hard to see elements of their characters in them. Richard, as we know, is part wide-eyed, fresh-faced kid (Scooter), part smart-aleck (Gunge, Turbo, Statler...), part lovable goofball (Junior Gorg, Forgetful Jones) and part spotlight-seeking artiste. (Placido Flamingo, Don Music et al)

And besides, we've seen a few photos of Richard wearing round Scooter-type glasses, so there you go.

For me, heralde, the best episode on disc 4 is the Robin Hood episode - and I love Scooter's running commentary as Alan-a-Dale. "In Sherwood Forest dark and deep dwelt Robin Hood, forsooth; an outlaw and his merry men...they were living fast and looth!"

And judging by your reaction to the behind-the-scenes feature, I'm definitely going to have to take a look one of these days. :flirt:

That is a perfect description, Erin, I love it. And I really love how all of these different traits of Richard's are brought out so perfectly in so many of his different characters as you described, too. It's really fun to watch a character of his and know a certain character's trait was Richard's trait as well.

Man, I actually own season 3, and I've only been able to watch 3 episodes from it so far! All on the first disc, but I like them (my favorite so far being Gilda Radner's episode). I'll definitely have to find some time to watch more eventually, and to watch the bonus features, too! They sound so terrific. Thank you heralde, for describing some of them!

Yup cause you know, it doesn't seem right for a thread about Richard to always be on topic, hehe.

Another one is laidback cool guy like Janice (though in that case a gal :flirt: )

Yup, truly a boy and his puppet.

Definitely pure Muppety perfection! Lynn Redgrave is really a joy to watch and very into it all. Poor Scooter trying to keep it all together (his reaction to Fozzie's bad joke is very Kermit!) I love how he says "Music by Scooter! That's right I played all 36 instruments!"

And after Beau says "Scooter the Go-fer!", Scooter says "Beauregard the helper!" (It sort of sounded like Scooter wasn't sure what to call him at first, hehe).

And Sweetums getting all confused, "Aw, I keep forgetting it's a play!"

Skye, yeah the Gilda Radner episode is crazy! Love how Beaker giggles at Gilda's misfortne at the hands of Bunsen!

Well the features good be better, but still good. And Muppets on Puppets is an absolute must see!

On the Jim Lewis thread, Mr. Lewis recently had this to say about future Muppet projects::

"MORE SCOOTER. DEFINITELY. NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT GO-FER, A WONDERFUL WAY TO BE EXPOSITORY ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING OR SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN NEXT, BUT THERE’S THAT WONDERFUL CALMNESS ABOUT HIM, MIXED WITH A DEGREE OF “MY OWN AGENDA” THAT GIVES HIM TANG AND VERVE. PLUS, HE WAS BORN BY THE INIMITABLE, UNFORGETABLE RICHARD HUNT, BLESS HIM. I’D SAY THERE’LL BE MORE OF SCOOTER. I’LL DO MY PART, AND YOU KEEP CHANTING HIS NAME AND WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS."

Now I'm still skeptical about more recent projects as you know, hehe, but it's still always great to see Scooter getting his due, especially after being gone so long!

And I agree with Jim's description, Scooter appears to be quite innocent and clean cut, but still has that certain independent edge apart from everyone else.

Just like most Muppets. They appear innocent on the outside, but look deeper and you have a loveable insanity that true fans find entertaining. XD
