I looked at the Alfie link heralde. Very beautiful. Did John write that poem himself?

Maybe just a teensy bit. But very affectionate as far as puppets with live children go.

Lol, I know what it is. At family parties and stuff, I always see adults doing that with kids, "Oh you don't like me? boo hoo boo hoo!" You know, just to get the kid to laugh or say "Yes I do like you!" My problem was I was so sensitive as a child that I would end up crying because I was afraid I had hurt the adult's feelings! Lol

Same here - I still take a lot of stuff literally, and I end up going on a major-league guilt trip because of it.

Was just watching two FR episodes, both starring the Honorable R.H. Hunt: "Fraggle Wars" and "Junior Sells the Farm." Now, I have something to say about the song "Dream Girl Lover." I mean, Junior Gorg singing a Marvin Gaye-style love ballad with a slight hint of reggae...I'd be surprised if Richard was able to get through that song without cracking up completely.

On another topic (I'm jumping around a bit, I know), I learned another connection between Richard and his pal Mark Hamill. Among other things they have in common: Mark's middle name, according to Wikipedia, is Richard.

It's fascinating how even when you're very little, your individual personality starts to become evident. And of course, there are good parts to be overly sensitive.

"Dream Girl Lover" is great because it's this sweet little romantic song, but sung with this crazy lisp, so you can't help but laugh lol. What's also great is how the writer emphasized the loneliness Junior always feels, which is so crucial to understanding the character.

Aw, that's cute about Mark's middle name. I know a lot of people don't like his episode of the Muppet Show (probably because it's played so much and gets non muppet fans to watch), but it's still one of my favorites. I love seeing "Luke" acting so crazy and out of character. and Jerry's introduction to Pigs in Space "The last time we saw the spaceship Swinetrek...we hoped it would be the last time!" And of course a little bit of "Ram a Lamb" and "Six String Orchestra" doesn't hurt!.

Very true - and listening to the song in the episode, it sounds like Richard had a grin on his face while he was singing, even after multiple takes.

Oh - another Richard cameo, and I think this one is a fairly new addition:

It's a book written by Joe Mathieu, one of the SS book illustrators. It's technically not a Muppet book, but pages 10 and 11 show the interior of a television studio - and it's set up for Sesame Street. And Joe's drawn many familiar Muppet crew faces in there - very cool.

Nice find, MN! That is adorable, lol. I always liked Joe Mathieu's illustrations. It's amazing that he included so many familiar faces! Interesting how he doesn't show them puppeteering; maybe he wanted to keep that illusion secret.

One aspect of TV show filming the book does get across is how much waiting around there is! Lol

Yes...this is "Spot the Muppeteer" on a grand scale. And I like how he drew Richard - looks just as good as an ink-and-paint illustration as he does in person.

I've noticed that Joe drew Jerry with kind of a military-style haircut - at least that's what it looks like to me.

And yes...very interesting that Ernie and Bert are seen peering through a window when the guys who are supposed to be performing them are on the opposite side of the studio. It's like you said - let's not spoil the illusion.

True, well sometimes his hair was pretty short, and it's probably also the style of his drawing.

"Can you imagine, imagine me forgetting the simple things that make me happy?"

One of my most favorite lines in all of Sesame Street.
