Right - they've got rules against bringing air horns and that stuff into the stadium, whether for sporting events or for big ceremonies. And they tell the parents and friends to keep quiet until everyone's names have been called.

So far, no one's done any stage diving or crowd surfing.

Oh yeah, I really wish that was enforced better in schools. One parent has to cheer for their kid and then everyone else feels they have to. And if one family doesn't, their kid feels left out. In my view, either no one cheers, or everyone cheers.

At one graduation, I tried applauding for everyone as they were called. Granted it got tiring around the M's, lol, but I still tried. It's worth it if it makes people feel better.

XD Graduation...feh...I think it is a time where people suck in their breath in relief from having accomplished so much--only to find they have to be well behaved and nearly strict on themselves just to throw a cap in the air. Neither do I believe that we should be wild! Sam the Eagle would forbid it!

Though...to stand on a stage for centuries...
and be angelic...

ecckkk!

D: I hate standing still and looking pretty.

Yeah I don't want to sound like an overly strict person or something, lol. Graduation should definitely be a time of release and relief! The ceremony has become rather staid and uncomfortable. And yeah, I'm not a huge fan of standing still and looking pretty either, lol.

It's just that I've seen too much bad behavior lately. People don't realize it reflects on you and your parents, who have spent a lot of money to send you to college. I don't think anyone here has done anything bad, hehe, I'm purely talking about other people I've seen. Most people are fine.

Well, we spend most of the ceremony sitting in the audience, so that at least helps. But yeah, some of those speeches make you long for a set of headphones and tunes (be they CDs or MP3s, whichever you prefer).

But it's good that they don't encourage people to toss their mortarboards - I mean, those things can take an eye out if you're not careful.

Are they really called mortarboards? I never knew that before, interesting!

Yeah they are, 'cause of their shape.

On a different topic: on the "Your Face!" site, I read that in addition to being a puppeteer and director, Richard also wrote a few scripts (including one of the proposed "Puppetman" scripts - but not the one that was taped). I thought that was kind of cool.

Ah, because of their shape...Well yes that does make sense! lol

Yeah I do recall reading that. Wow, that seems like a long time ago (I mean when I first discovered the site). That is definitely cool, would have been interesting to read! I hope they mention his directing debut on the 4th Season set of Fraggle Rock (of course I'm jumping the gun, we don't even have Season 3 yet!)

I had an opportunity recently to sign up for a one day volunteer program. I picked the children's charity. I would have anyway, but I also thought that was the one Richard might have chosen, lol.

Man, I'm really having trouble watching all these Bunsen/Beaker sketches back to back. I end up feeling so bad for Beaker at the end, lol. The whole just seems slightly sadistic!

I know, it's that hissing laugh of Bunsen's..."tss-tss-tss-tss-tss..."

Too true - Richard would have wanted to be involved in something that helped children, it seems. I can visualize him bringing some of his puppets to a children's hospital and cheering up a group of sick kids, that sort of thing.

And it was season 5 instead of 4, but who's counting?

Bunsen is covertly a sadist who enjoys torturing Beaker! He knows that --he just hides it with that warm Mr. Rogers act. :halo:

Mr. Hunt was to direct? Wow, that is some muppeteer!

Heh, I think he was the heart of the muppets while Jim was the soul of it!

He is a legend in my eyes...

I do not know why Mr. Hunt gave me that impression...

perhaps on how much I admire him.
