Well, what else was I supposed to call him? At least he's got a really famous right arm...

You're really welcome, Carrie, and here's hoping you're back up to speed. Was it a cold or something?

Lol, no I completely see why you called him a celebrity. He is indeed! I guess I just don't automatically think of that word to describe him or something... I'm not sure, really. I'm kinda weird like that, hehe.

Thanks a lot, Erin. Um, not exactly. I did have a cold about a week or two ago, but... it was just an emotionally tough day yesterday. Things are going much better now, though.

You know, it's funny. Because Caroll Spinny was saying in his book that a lot of really talented people have left over the years, because they thought that thet would be famous for being on such a big show, but finding it some what upsetting when they find out that nobody really know who that are, but know who there muppet is, rather. Because nobody can see them. So becoming a little wery of being in the shadows of thir muppet, in up departing from the show.

So a lot of the muppeter really don't do this for fame, but rether to entertain, bring joy to and make people happy. And you're right, Erin, Richard really does have one of the most famous hand's in the world.

Aww...your welcome, sweetie. I really do want to be you wonderful, man...:flirt: Thank you for letteing me be.

Ah, one of those days. :sympathy:

I imagine that coming around here to chat about Richard and/or the Muppets is really good therapy for that. I guess that's why we like the Muppets: they're really crazy and funny, so they're some of the few things in the world that actually make any sense these days.

*Pokes head in through RHLC doors...
Yes... But why make sense when it's more profitable to make dollars?
Yeah, I know, it's Lisa's joke. But one we love to quip around here.

(comedy club-style drumroll and cymbal crash)

And as if that weren't enough proof: "What we do is what everyone else in the world wants to do, and that's to act crazy. Except we get paid to do it."

Hello my dear club members....I finally come back with a strange dream in tow. Well, I've had a bad sinus infection for a few days, and that means "little to no decent sleep".

So I went and got some Pain Relief PM medicine over the counter. Took some last night. Got rewarded with a great nights sleep, and a really freaky dream early this morning!!

I was walking down a hall, with Jim Henson on one side of me, and Richard Hunt on the other. I seemed to be having trouble walking or something, or we were all tired. Not sure which. Most likely the latter. Because in all of my dreams we all seem to be walking in slo-mo.

Frank Oz was in front of us; walking backwards and jabbering away. And I think some other muppeters were behind us. Then after a few moments of walking, we were suddenly outside at this like....large underground lake of some sorts. There were wooden pillars everywhere, and there were more people then just us. And I recoginized all of them. I may not have known everyone, but every face I recoginized.

The lake was beautiful, and most people were sitting down on the ground, which was hard concrete. It was sparkling in what looked like the late afternoon sun, and some birds were chirping....quite peaceful. I laid against Jim Henson, and watched this beauty. The birds suddenly stopped chirping, and they flew away.

(there were also a couple of trees around the outer edges of the lake)

Somebody knew that could've meant trouble, so some people got up and left. He(She) tried to get other people to leave, and they were basically "This is a man-made inside lake, what's going to happen?"

...then the winds whipped up, howling and screaming. The wood pillars behind most of us were shaking. This...swirling mass of clouds appeared over the lake, and opened up this hole in the midst of it; it was shaped almost like an oval.....bolts of lighting came out from the middle of the hole, striking individual people. Then...a bolt came towards me, I barely was able to move, and it struck Richard Hunt; dead.

The bolts of deathly light kept coming for a bit longer, but it wasn't multiple bolts, just one at a time, and people weren't scattering, or even running. Heck they weren't moving. After about 3 or 4 more bolts came down, the storm system left as soon as it came. Then, after all of what had happened, happened....the people who were struck down woke back up.

They sat up, like nothing was wrong.

Then a few minutes later (I assume in real time) I woke up.

Parts of that dream were kina wierd, some were scary, other's were sad, and still others were funny(nobody moving after the lighting hit, tee-hee). But, that was some kinda dream you had last night. Oh yeah, Frank Oz is lways funny, too, hehe.

I can see why you the word "celebrity" had a negative conotation for you, Skye. We tend to think of celebrities as people whose lives are all wrapped up in how famous or wealthy they are. I'm sure not all of them are like that, but even the nice ones can't easily escape the influence of their fame.

It's sad but there are plenty of actors who are hugely responsible for a show or movie's sucess, who will never get the glory. They're often called the "working actors." They're not famous, they're not rich, they practice their art because they enjoy it and (of course) to make a living. Personally, I'd put Richard the other non-Jim&Frank muppeteers as somewhere in the middle. They don't get mentioned at the Oscars very often, but they're guaranteed a special place for having been so important to The Muppets.

Hmm...that dream sounds like something Star Trek would do. (In a good way, I like Star Trek, hehe).

Hmm...now that you guys mention it, maybe celebrity is kind of the wrong word to describe Richard, because he was a kind, caring human being, whose sense of humor was about as big as his heart, and a large number of today's celebs are pompous, egotistical look-at-me-I'm-better-than-you-so-worship-me-darn-it snobs - the kind of people Richard would have given a piece of his mind to had they guested on any of the shows.

Whoa, Sara, that dream was kind of creepy. Richard and the others getting zapped by killer bolts of lightning, only to return to life again...quite shocking.
