Thanks, Skye! I've been watching her episode over and over, all her songs are gorgeous.

Yeah, I always think it's possible to find at least one thing that really makes you happy in your life. Then after this life, you're able to appreciate it fully without the hamperings of the world. But of course, first you have to make sure you live a full meaningful life.

It's all kinda like a big self glorification fest in a way. It's like, Hey, look at us patting our onw selfs on the back for the job well done that we did.

I remember Frank talking about how it took him a good ten to fifteen years just to get the technical aspect down, but how after that, the rest is just smooth saling. And hering how he never said a word for the first seven years as a puppetear and how Jim should have fired him a gazilloin times because of how many times he scrwed up over again. But it was the potential that Jim saw in people and that he gave them a chance was why they Frank ended shuc an amazing talent. He also never held people to to just stick with him but encouraged them to even go beyoud what they were doing with the muppets and ever help them to do so if that's what they wanted to do. Which was one of the reason why he became such a good director, too.

And Frank also mentioned that some pople have it and some don't even though it took him that long, LOL!

On the Academy Awards, they just presented the award for Best Animated Short - the category that Kermit and Scooter (and Jim and Richard) presented in at the '86 awards.

Yeah, tonight I'm only watching it 'cause the roommate has it on. It just seems to me that most of the celebs on these shows are the same old, over-hyped glitterati.

On the other hand, I'm glad that Pan's Labyrinth has snagged a few awards so far tonight. Good to see that some people on the Oscar committee have some taste.

Well, it's not all like that. I mean it's like hay, as if getting paied tens of millions of dollars to play pretend and making more for a months work then you'll ever see in your life just wasn't enough, we need a rock to tell us that were good at it.

But I agree that some of these people are very deserving of their work. So I'm not completely opposed of it, though. It's just a bit over rated, that's all.

Oh I've definitely been there! It's great to have a teacher/boss who sees past your mistakes and looks toward the potential. And it's always amazing to me that Frank was afraid to do voices, seeing as how he was so brilliant later on. His characters were instantly well rounded, unusual personalities, with dead-on sense of humor.

This is from that same article:

"Oz, who directs films (now making What About Bob? with Bill Murray) when not playing Fozzie Bear or Piggy, says to return to the fold is 'to come back to my family. I love it...Nothing has changed except that I'm doing it without my best friend."

It's definitely wrong to assume Frank stopped caring about The Muppets just because he went on to directing. He wanted to expand his talents and that's just what he did. It would have been a waste for him to stand still when he had such ambition. :halo:

Okay gang, here's the deal. I'm really tired, but before I go to bed, I just wanted to tell you that at about midnight last night, I got in from seeing B. B. King live in Stanford, CT! It was so amazing! My aunt got us the tickets for Christmas, and though I wasn't really a fan, I think I am now!
:sing: There's much more that I want to say, both about the concert and everything else you seem to be talking about, but as usual I'm a bit overwelmed right now, not to mention exhausted! Remind me to talk your ears..hu..write your eyes out tommorow?

Good night all!

That's awesome, FM! And great that you're more of a B.B. King fan than you were before. I'm not that knowledgeable of his music, but I love listening to it. Can't wait to hear more about the experience.

Yay, one of the tapes arrived today! That was sooner than expected. It was the Children's Songs and Stories with The Muppets, hosted by Scooter. Well, as promised, I did watch a couple seconds just to make sure the tape didn't go boom as soon as it turned on.

Surprisingly, I found the beginning a bit...em...unnerving. Unintentionally of course. First there's the Jim Henson Home Video logo. A outline of Kermit rises up, eventually becoming the real Kermit. Yeah, kinda weird, lol. Then we dissolve to Scooter sitting at a desk against a completely black background. Again, kinda creepy!

It makes sense actually; I was often scared of The Muppets as a child, despite also being a fan!

Anyway, Scooter is looking through his scrapbook of children's songs and stories The Muppets have performed over the years. (Hey, Scooter really does keep a scrapbook, not just in fanfics!) All the regular characters will make appearances, "even me!" I like that Scooter keeps a scrapbook, he doesn't just work for The Muppet Show, he's their biggest fan.

I apologize for not having more, but I didn't want to press my luck with the tape and its quality. Plus, I was too tempted to keep watching and I need to save it for my B-day. Trust me, it won't be that long!

That sounds awesome, heralde! Totally cool that one of the tapes came already!

Oh, I've seen that logo before... I always thought it was rully cool! And actually, Scooter against a black background sounds kinda sad, and weird. But it definitely sounds like the rest of the tape will be totally awesome, hehe! I gotta say... I can't wait for your birthday!

I think it's darn cool that Scooter keeps a scrapbook too, hehe. He's in one of the best positions to do that, too!

Thanks for sharing what you've seen so far!
