Oh, what I meant accidental creation of the monster that is Elmo.
Haha, yeah I couldn't totally tell for sure, but I figured either way, it would kinda work.

I never watched Sesame Street, or even paid any attention to it before, but I was surprised to find out that Richard performed Elmo for as long as he did in the first place. It would be entertaining to hear him doing it, though!

I actually have been fortunate to here Richard's Elmo before, While the new Elmo was on the show too. I wish I could describe it to you, but I don't remember it exactly. I mean I have so many variations of hie voice in my head, I cant make out which one.

But you've really never watched sesame street before? I mean wow! I really am speechless!

I know. I feel like I'm the only person in all of MC who hasn't watched it! Like I know enough to be aware of the main characters, but for instance, now I know that Jerry did the voice for The Count, but I really don't know what he did or anything. And obviously, I know about the ones that Richard did like Don Music and Placido Flamingo, but I've never seen them or anything.

That's very cool that you've heard Richard's Elmo! I do understand not being able to remember it perfectly, though. Well, I do hope I get the chance to hear it someday.

They have a Don Music clip on You Tube. It's kind of funny, and it kind of sounds like...Wayne of Wayne and Wanda I guess. But I can see why people thought it was a bad example for kids.

I read some of those vignettes about Richard (Dave pouring sugar in his mouth, the glass breaking offstage, etc), and now I'm going to be snickering to myself all day.

The way I heard it, Richard didn't really like playing Elmo in the first place. Something about not being able to connect with the character. I think he did the right thing in palming the little red hairball off on Clash.

Hey, maybe that's why he went out and had a few too many drinks in the first place! No offense, but that's what I'd do if I had to play Elmo.

Oh, thanks, MBM! I'll have to check that out. I guess I can see the bad example thing, too. But I think it sounds pretty entertaining.

No Richard dreams to report last night. Had him on the brain, though.

I know, I can almost just see it. You look out your office wall and there's Dave running with a half-Sweetums half-man running after him. Or being in the middle of a performance and then suddenly there's a loud smash and a small intrigued grunt.

Why am I not surprised that Richard couldn't connect with Elmo? I just had a gut feeling that Richard was only too glad to be rid of him! Couldn't you just see him in the bar complaining to his buddies about not wanting to work the next day, complete with the bad Elmo impression and all?
Yeah, something like Richard and Dave and the sugar must have been really funny from the by-stander's point of view! Appearantly, for the muppeteers with full-bodied muppets, being in costume, or partially in costume, must have had an affect on them.

*is laughing loudly now* I can totally see that. Him breaking something and being intrigued that it did infact break.

That makes sense about the hangover thing. I don't know why, but I guess it does...

I can totally imagine all that, too. Especially the sugar thing must've been such a riot.
