Good! and backup cake is always a good thing to have. And there nothing more muppety then blowing up a talking cake. Just as long as we're not an item on a store rack somewhere, I think will be okay for the most part, haha, wait a minute...I think???:stick_out_tongue:
Uh-oh, I think my boyfriend cracked, y'all!

Ed, no need to be sorry. Thanks for your thoughts for us!

Okay, my grandmother's seen the quilt (which still needs to be photographed). She adores it; she says that Richard must be smiling up in heaven.

Oh, I'm sure she is...and I think I see him now on that really puffy cloud in front of the moon. It's been kinda foggy around here today.

It's going out into the mail on Saturday morning. We'll have some time to run it over to the local UPS place then.

Oookay....I am in a bit of a ranting mood, and I felt like ranting here!

Here it comes, in my usual train-o-thought style:

I've been stressed, with a huge headache today. And my friend Kelly was here, and we watched the first disc of the first season of "Queer as Folk". After that was all over, my headache flared again, and I took a nap. So, Mom comes home, we get groceries, and we come home. Dad turns on the TV, and lo and behold what's on?

The Year Without A Santa Claus

My absolute favorite Rankin/Bass seasonal Christmas production! It's so freaking AWESOME!!! And I'm dancing on my butt, singing along to Heat Miser and Snow Misers songs, like I'm 8 years old again. (First time I ever saw the special, by the way.) And it's so totally awesome! I just love, love, love it!!!

So I watch it, and I decide on trying to find information about it on Wikipedia. I do. It's nice, and has some links....I go down further and I see the header "Remake"

I wonder..."Remake? What is this 'remake' they speak of?"

THEY DID A REMAKE (LIVE-ACTION MOVIE) OF MY FAVORITE TV SPECIAL AND IT AIRED ON DECEMBER 11TH OF THIS YEAR AND I DIDN'T EVEN SEE IT!!!!!

Gah!!! TNEIONIGASOGHIDANGIEONGIEROGNIRONWEUIOGNIEOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

*exhales loudly, and takes another breath in* Whoo....okay. Rant over. That...felt really good.

Thanks for taking the time to read said rant. And I hope you enjoy yourselfs and are warm underneath a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa.

By the way, click the links! They'll bring up a new window with each of their videos from the original special, courtesy of YouTube!

Hmmm... Sara, you do know about the YOWAS PVC figures/statues right? Ask around in the B/S/T section here, or maybe you'd prefer to search the forums at www.creatusmaximus.com for threads in the appropriate sections like Current Toys or Ye Old Toys or The Preservation Of Original Palisades.
Word of warning, there's no filter at that place... Hope this helps.

Well, not quite, but I am nicely warm, with a chocolate pudding. I haven't had one in so long, and it's so good!!

Sorry you missed that remake. I hope you do get to see it some other time, though!

Eh, don't worry about the remake. I'm sure they'll show it again. And remakes are never as good as the original.

I avoided the remake of "Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys" for awhile. Why can't they just leave well enough alone?? I finally saw it tonight, and of course, it doesn't compare to the original. But, at the same time, it was very sweet, nearly made me cry.

When it comes to Christmas specials on television, my fave is A Charlie Brown Christmas. It is a tradition to watch it at least once during the season in my house...of course, the last few years I've had to watch it on my roommate's tube, since finals were right around the corner.

On another subject: Richard's quilt was sent off in the mail on Saturday, and I have a photo posted on my deviantART page at last. The link's in the usual thread.
