Yeah, it shocked me a little when she talked about why her mother died.

Me too, I hadn't realized how much detail went into her story. But it is a serious situation over there, so I suppose they can't afford to avoid things.

It was interesting; in Bangladesh the country's people seemed really behind the idea, but the government had issues. Whereas in Kosovo, the people were unsure, and the government hardly seemed involved.

Yeah, and they almost didn't get it on the air, too, Bangladesh.

It was really scary to here what those kids were saying over their Serb albanias. It's scary to here that kind of talk come out of childrens mouths.

It's similer to what's happing with the Israeli and Palestinian virsion of the show.

Well, I don't want to get political, and I certainly don't fully understand their situation, but it's hard to try and promote peace in a country where they're still attacking each other and being afraid. I guess the hope is that a show like Sesame Street can at least give kids a better lesson on living.

At the beginning, one of the speakers said children aren't born haters, they're talk to hate. I've heard that before, but I don't entirely agree with it. I don't think kids are born haters, but I'm not sure they're born lovers either. Adults do have to teach children about respect and love, otherwise it doesn't always show up.

I agree with you on that one, it is hard to promote peace in a country where there isn't much. SO it's good to give kids there some peace of mind in their lives.

But what I believe is children leand by example or what their parent's do and not what they say. It's the whay the parent chooses to live their live that the children emulate and eventuelly believe.

That's what I think too, parents are the ultimate models for children, for better or for worse.

Yeah it was nice to see the children were happy with the results.

I hadn't seen Kami before, so that was interesting. The whole South Africa part was difficult to watch, I definitely teared up the first time.
I know. I think it'd be really nice if they let Kami appear on Sesame Street in the U.S...but those uber-uptight "values" groups keep making noise about it.
