Somewhat related topic: it sounds to me like Richard was the kind of guy who looks good in anything, whether it's a polo shirt and jeans or a tux.
Or no shirt at all... *shifty eyes*

Good point...see also: Sara's much-mentioned jacuzzi dream.

By the way, I read that little tribute that you've got on '15 Seconds...' for Richard. I've read 'In the Gloaming' too, while I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed. It's a good story, and yes, I did think that Laird (the young man dying from AIDS) did share at least a few traits with Richard.

Great website Kim. That's the first time I saw it. Thanks for posting it, it's awesome.

He really does look good in almost everything. He's got that air about him.

On a side note, I just got back from Little Miss Sunshine. I recommend it to all of you. Steve Carell was, as always, wonderful, and Paul something was good, and the girl was good, and Alan Arkin was good, and the plot was good. It was good. Sorry, I get rambley after good movies.

Thanks, Kim! I love your website, too. You do a really great job with it.

Oh, yes. No matter what Richard was wearing (or not wearing in some cases that most of us females here like to imagine), he always looked completely amazing. And yummy.

That is very cool, MBM. I haven't heard too much about that movie yet, but I love Steve Carell.

Well, I'm sweet for you Skye.
Boy, you sure are making your way through this club, aren't ya? Hehe, I'm just kidding, sweetie. I love it.

So, I was really taking my time, but I finished reading Of Muppets And Men tonight. Very awesome book! I loved it. The Richard stories are awesome... of course, I kept wanting more, though. And the pictures of him are amazing. Wish there were more books just like that around.

I believe there was talk of Steve writing a book, though that might be another project that won't be completed. Anyway, Richard'll pro'ly be in that...maybe. He wasn't in Carroll Spinney's. Oh, maybe he'll be in Kevin Clash's, you know, cause that's how Kevin got Elmo.

Yes, he was in Caroll's book! I remember him somewhere.

Wonder what his explanation will be: did Richard come in that morning with a hangover or did he simply hand (or more likely, throw) the puppet over to Kevin?

Our boy's got a birthday tomorrow; are we going to have a big fete here or are we going to set up a separate thread for the occasion?
I'll bring the sorbet...and I'll also provide a nice big bowl of fresh orange punch.

I believe Kevin will go with the "Literally threw him at me one day" explanation. Doesn't raise a lot of questions about Why, in which the answer would be a little too much to drink the night before. Some die-hard fans of Elmo may not like that too much. You know, the fact that he was created by beer.

EDIT: I think a seperate thread would be nice. Might recruit some new members.
