If you have any RCA connectors or coaxial cables, you might be able to hook your portable up to your TV and watch that way.

I do have an hdmi cable but it’s been very buggy, so I gotta get a new one.

But eh, I’m gonna get a new one for 34 dollars from Best Buy soon so 🤷🏿‍♂️

Out with the expired, in with the fresh.

The sooner I get this done that just means one less small thing to worry about.

The thing is 11 years old. I think it may be coming to the end of the road.
I have one of those combo deals going on 15 years now.
I can’t even remember the last time I used the vcr side.
I got this as a Walmart special, and I’m surprised it lasted this long.

Yeah, it's those VCR sides that really start going quickly . . . I can attest to that, because I've gone through about four or five machines just in the last decade or so; they've usually only lasted me about three years at the most.

That happened with my previous combo. The VCR was starting to get weary by the beginning of 2019, and then a few months later it ate whatever tape I put in.

I called it quits there mainly because my dvd section was also starting to act up and sometimes it took awhile for it to even recognize a disc was in there. With this one, my vcr section is fine but my dvd section is toast. So at this point I’m pretty much just using this for the vcr until it decides to crap up on me.

So then you got this around 2006? That’s pretty cool it’s still lasting, but I imagine it’s likely cause you don’t use it so much.

I’ve gone through vcr tapes like they were water. In the 80s and 90s I had a few hundred tapes.. Now I ‘m down to three. Many got chewed up, others I replaced with dvds. Others you can find on YouTube. I don’t miss the fact tapes used to take up a lot of space.

For me I actually prefer watching 80s, 90s and early 2000s movies on VHS and keep some of the same on dvd for the sake of bonus features (or if maybe I just feel like switching up once in awhile 🤷🏿‍♂️).

But I can understand why other folks just decided to rid them away. Different tastes in the end.
