I'll have you know I've done that very thing before; I've delivered meals to homebound, invalid, immobil, and otherwise less-fortunate people. It makes me sick to think programs and services like this are always on the chopping block when it comes to governmental budget cuts.

And get this, they think that it's okay to go on living this way, one Always wants somebody to treat her to dinner or lunch after she loses what money she gets at the local casino, and always wants somebody to buy stuff for the house like dish washing liquid. she never thinks about that stuff until after she has wasted her money. She even wastes the rent money that I give her, which she charges me, which is not much, but I pay something for staying with her. My dad on the other hand, Does not want to work, rather sit at home stuff his fat face and say stupid stuff , don't even want to fix anything around the house that gets broken. Know darn well I can't drive , says I don't feel like it, but let one of his loser friends call, he wold jump up in a heart beat. I try to save money so that I just leave them behind, but every time I try, something pops up.

I'm sorry about your deal. It would be nice to just move out and leave your parents to their own devices. Giving your mom money just enables her. Gambling is an addiction and she needs help. Gambling is no different than drugs, alchohol, etc. when you spend everything to satisfy this craving.
If I had the room, I'd be the first one to take you in just to get out of that toxic environment. When I was 19, I moved out because my dad was an alcoholic and I had to leave to save my sanity.

That is a good thing. You should be proud. I see it a lot up here. A lot of people give locally to help people out.
For years (going on decades now) I never looked for the government to help out, but grassroots efforts that start at the bottom and move up always do more than things that start at the top and trickle down.

Even some big charities, like United Way, March of Dimes, UNICEF, even the Red Cross, so much of every dollar gets eaten up by administrative costs only a few pennies reach those they're trying to help.

I found out that one of the dogs that comes to the daycare I work at was hit by a car and died. I liked her but she had her good days and bad days. Her “dad” supposedly cried about it, but my co-workers and I think they were crocodile tears because he was not fond of the dog at all. It was more his wife’s dog and we suspect that he’s abusing her somehow. Someone even saw him hit her in the face after the dog escaped as if he was blaming her when it was his fault! We also think he might have hit the dog on purpose, but we don’t have any concrete proof of any of that. We’ll never know exactly what happened, but it’s very sad.

Yesterday, one of my college friends lost her dog due to anesthetic complications during recovery after a dental and removing bladder stones and tomorrow, one of my co-workers is putting her dog to sleep due to kidney failure. It’s a bad week for losing pets!

Well, on top of losing the dogs I mentioned before, I found out that my insurance is cutting me off because my income is “too high”. I call total BS! I went to the dentist last month still haven’t gotten a bill from my insurance, so it looks like I’m paying for it out of my own pocket!
Why, oh, WHY must insurance be such an absolute pain in the rear?!

We had to put down my cat that I just got for Christmas today. She was suffering from sickness. He was in a lot of pain too.
