This was the lowest rated episode of The Muppets. Oh well, perhaps if the next few episodes are well watched then maybe it'll be renewed, although I highly doubt it. I'm no longer keeping my hopes up about this show. I advise everyone to lower their expectations so that it hurts less when the show is cancelled.

I thought It was Ok but had no edge what so ever like the first part of the season): And as my dad said It was hard to follow, after the episode my dad said I don't quite get what the episode was about and I totally agreed with him...

And I know the Muppets are all about music but the Music seemed forced.I think the only thing I liked was the Pizza joke, and I think the joke was his name Is spelled like Pizza but he does not pronounce it like the food!

Tonight make plans to watch "The Muppets" new episode "Swine Song" at 8:30|7:30c on ABC. Then join the discussion immediately afterwards in the Muppet Central Forum.

Episode 11 - Swine Song

The "Up Late" crew returns from hiatus and everyone is rested and ready to get back to work, but their good vibes are short-lived when a branding specialist arrives and tries to fix what isn't broken.

If you saw "Swine Song" please like this post and share your thoughts below.

I was very pleased with this episode!
I was intrigued with the whole "out with the old, in with the new conflict."
Things got real with Denise, and I hope "PIZZA" runs out of wi-fi.

I squealed real loud when Kermit and Piggy covered "In Spite Of Ourselves," have to admit.
Kermit and a banjo never goes wrong.

Cannot wait for the next one.

PS, Pre-ordering Key and Peele's hand-knitted oven-mits ASAP, if they make it past Shark Tank.

This episode did exactly what it needed to do. It actually wasn't all that different from the last couple before the break, indicating it was more a tweak than a reboot (which is what I predicted), but for those who didn't watch it every week before the break, it was just enough to show the differences without seeming too jarring of a change. Subtle thing, like the opening, where Iermit actually seemed enthusiastic about getting things started instead of resigned to the issue. (Which is what some of the early criticism called out specifically, that Kermit seemed to be unenthusiastic.)

The sketches were great. As DrTooth said, they were just like the sort of sketches one would see on Fallon or Kimmel, so they are very appropriate for the-show-within-the-show while still being outright hilarious and sweet in their own right.

And the Muppet Show theme was perfectly used to illustrate the return of the heart and joy of the Muppets. Though it really hasn't been missing these last few episodes; after a bit of a glimpse in "Bear Left, then Bear Write", it really came back in "Pigs in a Blackout" (which, of course, ended with "The Rainbow Connection", letting everyone who saw it know). But like I said, this episode was there to show just that to those who hadn't seen the last few episodes. I feel fortunate to have not missed them myself.
[Kermit being enthusiastic in the revised theme]
I noticed that too! Made me giggle.

Man, those were some bad ratings. It's been fun while it lasted :frown:

But hey,we still have five episodes left and we still have Camilla to look forward to. I'm just glad I got to be alive while a Muppet show was still airing and i've been very fortunate to share this Muppets revival era(2009-present) with all of you.

That's a shame that it's the lowest. Hopefully next week since Camilla is coming back more people will give it another chance and watch.

Well, ain't that a kick in the head. The optics on this look terrible, not just because it was the lowest-rated episode of the season but because it looks like The Muppets lost nearly half of the lead-in audience from Fresh Off The Boat. (Mind you, Agent Carter has fared poorly so far this year, so maybe that had something to do with it, as well.)

And that's after a day and a half of pretty intense Muppet promotion on several networks (not just ABC) and various public appearances. Yikes.

Well, I guess our best hope is that the small-but-passionate audience that has stayed with this show makes a whole lot of noise about how much they like it, and that somebody at ABC feels there's still some room for growth, both in the remainder of this season and the possibility of a second season.

I take some solace in the experience of Kristin Newman's previous ABC show, Galavant. It opened with just over seven million viewers last January and dropped three million of those by the end of the season, but ABC liked it enough to give it another shot (even thought it must have cost a fortune to produce). Sadly, the numbers kept falling in Season 2 (undeservedly so, from where I sit, as the show got MUCH better), but the simple fact is that ABC didn't give up on it.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll be that lucky with The Muppets. I hope so. This series represents some of the best Muppet content (TV or otherwise) that I've seen in several years. Despite my feelings about last night's return-from-hiatus, I look forward to the remainder of the season and won't give up on a renewal until someone from ABC tells me otherwise.
