"Here is a Muppet News Flash"

"j3h joins forum and decides to take pictures of toys with an Iphone and edit them with only an Iphone App."

"When asked why he would want to endevor in such an undertaking, he replied 'Who wants to endure my underwear Mr. I-only-come-up-as-a-link? Get a thumbnail ya Tandy!'

We at Muppet News will be sure to keep following this breaking story"

Ok, 2 more Iphone shots for tonight (at some point I post pictures using a really real camera)...

Uncle Deadly's House of Deadly Doom with a special guest star:

"Hey Gonzo, I think something weird is going on..."

Haha... I thought about buying that same Vincent Price figure to go with Uncle Deadly, but I haven't gotten around to acquiring one yet.

Looking forward to the 'really real camera' shots.

    Hey There Dearth!

The Vincent Price figure is actually too tall for the Muppet figures and the height was cheated for the pictures (he's standing in a pit, and Fozzie & Gonzo are on raised bases).
Just wanted to give you the heads up on that before you go purchase one.

Here are my last few Iphone shots that I have saved...in the next day or so I'll be posting photos of my current project using my regular really real digital camera (there are a couple of hints to what this project is in this batch of photos)

    "Beat Drum! Beat Drum!"

    "Tøødēē wë cöökń dër Bōk-Bōk!"

    Orchestra pit dog blues

"Aw Jeeze...I think I need to find a better hiding spot"

"What did you think of this post?"
"It would have been better if it was postponed!"

    Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks... if I recall correctly, the height was what stayed my hand when I was researching that Vincent Price figure a few months back.

Oh well, I had to use the same trick when I posed my George Burns doll with the Muppet figures. Gonzo was standing on top of something, and George was crouching slightly at the knees.

just cleaning up a few things before the big show...

I'll be posting pics of my full muppet theater/balcony/backstage diorama soon (using that really real camera I've been mentioning) in either this thread or the diorama thread depending how popular opinion sways

Those are fantastic, j3h! Love the textures and angles--doesn't even feel like you're dealing with toys, it's like those are stills from the show or something. And what an amazing stage, too! Did you build it?

Out of curiosity, what kind of camera are you using?

    Thank you Mupzzd and Narrator!

Yes, I did build the stage and the rest of the display around the existing Palisades Backstage playset. I honestly was very inspired by Dearth's creations over in his Diorama and custom figures thread which led me to really want to do this project.

Most of the diorama's structure is made with foamcore covered with dollhouse sheets of brickwork or such. The balcony is a thin wood round craft box found at AC Moore.

On the photography side, I used an (currently tempermental) older model of Omplyus camera to take the shots of the display. Right now it randomly decides to not accept any of the memory cards I have for it (hence why the earlier pictures in this thread are taken with my Iphone)...My wife keeps offering me to use her new Powershot, but I'd rather play with what I'm familiar with (for now anyway...I'm sure I'll be on the market for an upgrade at somepoint this year)

Again, Thanks for checking this out and thanks for the questions:cool:

Just dropping in to let you know that your shots of the Vincent Price alongside the Uncle Deadly helped me decide to finally purchase one. He just arrived, and is very cool.

Hey, here's a question... how big were the sheets of brick that you were using? I always hate the seam in my upstage brick wall, but I didn't see one on yours. If that's several small pieces attached to each other, you did a great job blending out the seam.

    Keep up the good work.
