Raisins alone upset my stomach so I would imagine how horrible my stomach would feel if I ate that (mind you celery and peanut butter alone made me sick).

As far as ranch is concerned, it's definitely one of those condiments that no matter what brand you buy (Hidden Valley, Kraft, whatever), the stuff just never tastes as good as it does in most restaurants - and I have yet to come across a store brand of ranch dressing that tastes as good as restaurant ranch dressing. Same can be said for tartar sauce, and especially alfredo sauce: store alfredo sauce is disgusting.

The ranch dressing certainly is, yes, especially when you can get different flavors of it: bacon ranch, cucumber ranch, buttermilk ranch, etc.

At my last restaurant job, we made our own ranch. It’s not that hard.
I can’t recall the measurements, but the ingredients are:
Buttermilk
Sour cream (in a pinch you can use mayo)
Salt and pepper
Dill
Lemon juice
Chives
We made it in 5 gallon batches just about every day. The people up front could dress it up with bacon, avocados, or jalapeños and make it kick.

Horseradish is an ingredient in cocktail sauce? No wonder that stuff's gross!
